Come Grow with Us...Where it’s Pleasant on the Hill

“But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written:

‘Be holy, because I am holy.’” 1 Peter 1:15-16

“Pursuing Holiness”

God’s children are called to live holy lives that are marked by

a deep reverence for Him. One strong motivation for

righteous living is the cross and what it represents.

The cross reminds us that we were once separated from God

and points to our need for a Savior. It was on the cross that

Jesus took our place and endured God’s wrath so we could be

forgiven, reconciled and adopted into God’s family. Only

through faith in Jesus Christ can we be saved.

Sadly, many have forgotten about God’s requirements for

holiness. Instead of striving to having transformed lives that

reflect the values of the Kingdom of God, we pursue worldly

pleasure and material wealth. In order to counteract this

worldly pursuit, keep the meaning of the cross before you.

Then we’ll be motivated to pursue holiness in honor of the

One who gave His life to save us.

In Celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

WOW invites you to join us on Saturday, October 19th @ 11:00am for our 2nd Annual Survivor

Celebration Luncheon. We are asking everyone to wear white tops with denim bottoms.

Oh, don’t forget your Pink Flare!

Also, on Sunday, October 20th, it’s Worship in Pink!! Please wear something Pink in

honor of survivors. LET’S PINK OUT PLEASANT HILL!!!

STUDY TO SHOW THYSELF APPROVED What does it mean to fix God’s words in your heart and mind? Among other things, it means to be continually conscious of God’s words as you go through your daily routine. One practical way to make sure is to memorize Bible verses and passages.

There’s power in the scriptural memorization. When we become familiar with a word, phrase, or verse, it springs to mind instantly when something happens to trigger the memory. When you’ve truly internalized something, it can stay with you all your life. Consider how easy it is to recall the lyrics to songs learned from childhood.

Here are a few tips to help memorize scripture:
