ConfirmationPlease let Shirley know if you'd like to be confirmed. It isn't a test, it isnt about having to believe certain things – it's about wanting to know more of God, about wanting Jesus to show you the way the truth and the life & for his Spirit to be confirmed in you. The Deanery Confirmation is October 29th in Malmesbury Abbey. Confirmation is for anyone of any age, it's for you if you want it. -Harvest Festival Service Sunday Oct 6th at 11 am An event for community, school and church. Harvest Festival “Water is life ”

We'll collect harvest goods of tins and packets to give to those in crisis through Swindon Food Bank. Our collection and any profit from our harvest lunch will be given to Kigezi Diocese Water & Sanitation Programme which “Meets the needs of the rural poor and water stressed communities in the Diocese of Kigezi” (our Uganda Link Diocese). Pete, Linda and Shirley were able to see the life changing work of this programme. Please give generously in response to God's generosity to us.

Prayers please:Bishop Lee, the Bishop of Swindon, has asked for prayers across the diocese. He has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma which will be treated with radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The positive news is that it's been caught early and the treatment regime is usually pretty effective; Bishop Lee's first cycle of chemotherapy begins Wed 4th Sept. Please remember Bishop Lee, Liz & the family in your prayers in the coming months.

Please pray too for Rev Lee Barnes, licenced as Interim Minister in North Wiltshire. He will take some services & occasional offices in the 4 (out of 6) groups of parishes in a vacancy. He was curate in Malmesbury and lives in Bristol. We don't know yet when he will be in Upper Thames.

Please pray for two Bishop Georges of Kigezi. The current Bishop George is to retire soon and the next Bishop George will be consecrated in January.

If you would like to be part of a Holy Cross or Upper Thames Group email Prayer Network please let Shirley know. You would receive an email with prayer requests (confidential) and you pray in your own time & space.

A prayer for you: Go and know that the Lord goes with you; let him lead you each day into the quiet place of your heart where he will speak with you; know that he loves you and watches over you; that he listens to you in gentle understanding; that he is with you always, wherever you are and however you may feel.
