SUNDAY’S REFLECTION: Home is where the Family is The idea, dream, and reality of family is so strong and du-rable that we use it to describe all that is best about human gath-erings. We speak of the family of nations, of our church and parish families. The greatest compliment we can pay a friend or gracious host is to say that we feel at home with them, we feel part of the family. Families are the first crucibles in which love is tested and tempered. Jesus himself was one of three people who lived in the shadow of each other. This family, like our own, did not always “get it right,” but they always tried to. These three “amateurs” were on holiday, and one of them got lost. Two were worried sick and took great measures to find the third, a boy after all, who was seeking the meaning of his calling. He found his vocation—to do his Father’s work—but he also re-turned home with his parents.

I am pleased to provide an update on the status of our parish capital campaign of Our Lady of Grace Pastoral Center. As of December 11:

Pledges: $1,639K or 41% of $4 million goal.

Payments: $768K or 48% of pledges

Donors: 937 participants.

We are truly blessed to have many wonderful parishioners like you who continue to pray and support our Parish.

Also, our fundraising food sales after Mass are going strong. As of now, we have raised $4,500—an average of $1,500 per week! Thank you!

May Jesus, through the inter-cession of our Lady of Grace, grant us our hearts desire.

LEGION OF MARY Would you like to receive Our Pil-grim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima in your home for a week’s visit? We have openings available for next year, starting in January 2019. You will keep her for one week. If you would like the blessing of our Lady’s visit, please call Rosa at 951-249-5938.

1st Friday: SACRED HEART OF JESUS Prayers follow the 9:00am Mass every First Fri-day. Twelve promises are given to those who honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus after nine con-secutive months of Mass, Communion, and Confession (eight days before or after) every First Friday of the month.

1st Saturday: IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY: Prayers and the Fatima Rosary begin at 8:10am every First Saturday to honor the Immaculate Heart of Mary. After five con-secutive months of Mass, Holy Communion, Rosary, and 15 minutes meditation on its mys-teries, there are special promises attached.

HIS HANDS A Blessed, Happy and Healthy New Year to all of you! The Mission will be closed from Tuesday, December 18 and will reopen for the volunteers on Tuesday, January 2, 2019.
