Text: John 3:1-6 Matthew 3:11, 12 Luke 4:14-19
Introduction: Most Christians want all God has for them. Most do not
have it because of three things:
1. Ignorance
2. Misinformation
3. Denominational Doctrines
Solution: It is all in the Bible! Study the Bible!
I. Bible Doctrines on the Holy Spirit
A. Need to be born of the Spirit
B. Need to be baptized of the Spirit
C. Need to operate in power of the Spirit

Text: Matthew 3:13-17 Genesis 8:8-12
Introduction: Three different dispensations of the Holy Spirit using types
and shadows teaching from Old Testament—we find in Genesis 8:8-12 these
happenings:
1. v. 9 – dove sent out; no rest—returned
2. v. 11 – dove sent out; returned with leaf—judgment over
3. v. 12 – dove sent out; did not return
I. Old Testament Dispensation (Genesis to Malachi)
A. Holy Spirit came upon certain people, at certain times, for
certain service, then departed
1. 1 Samuel 10:6, 10; 11:6; 16:14
2. Judges 13:25; 14:6, 19; 15:14; 16:19
B. Under Old Covenant dispensation, the Spirit found no place to
stay!

II. Gospel Dispensation (Matthew to John)
A. Resurrection—Romans 8:11; olive branch in dove’s mouth
shows us that God’s judgment of sin is over for all that are in
Christ
B. Judgment of sin fell on Jesus—John 5:24 (death)
III. Church Age or New Testament Dispensation (Pentecost to
Present)
A. Spirit now comes and stays forever
B. He indwells all believers—Romans 8:11, 14, 16
The Holy Spirit is in us and will not leave us!

Text: John 14:10-17 (Focus – v. 12)
Introduction: Most of us will admit that the church as a whole is not
doing the “works of Jesus” let alone the “greater works.”
We will look at three things that will help us begin to do the “works of Jesus
and the greater works.”
I. Because Jesus Has Gone to the Father (John 14:12)
A. He came to earth as a man
B. Lived a sinless life
C. About to take upon Himself:
1. Our sins
2. Our sicknesses
3. Our curse

Conclusion: If this is good news to the world, think how wonderful it is to
Believers!
1. Your sin has been dealt with.
