FLEXIBLE SOLUTIONS

If you use more than 500,000 kWH of Electricity at one (or across all of your sites) you can access flexible energy purchasing at Amber Energy. Our flexible purchasing options are supported by some of the major energy suppliers in the UK. With Amber Energy you will be able to benefit from changes in the energy markets without taking any huge risks. We will work with you to manage your energy purchasing and to set upper and lower limits to ‘trigger’ energy purchasing (or a call in to you to make this decision) - its up to you!

Simple, Flexible Purchasing

(Suitable if your consumption is between 500,000 - 2,000,000 kWH per annum). Ideal as it allows you to make flexible buying decisions without having to dedicate your time (or a member of staff) to understanding the markets or monitoring what is going

on. You can purchase the first part of your energy up to 12months ahead of your contract start date- and your final purchase can be made as late as midday 5-days before the contract start date. All of your energy will be purchased ahead of your contract start date and we will write to you to

confirm the achieved average price- allowing you to budget as if you had agreed a fixed price contract.

You are able to split your purchasing decision into more than one tranche. The number of tranches you can purchase your

energy in will be limited to a maximum of 4- the lower limit is 2 and will depend on your eligibility. Before entering into a flexible purchasing agreement you will sign-up to your non-energy charges. The decision for non-energy charges is to fix these or allow these to change with

any changes in regulation in the market. When you have made this decision you will then fix your first tranche of energy use- either 25%, 50% or 75%, of your total energy volume. Your energy volume will be based on your previous years energy usage- if you expect a large increase in your

energy usage or do not believe the supplied figure to be accurate it is important to flag this up. The price for the remaining volume of energy will then be fixed by you (or us if you decide) when you are satisfied with the market price. You may wish to set a ‘lower limit’ which if reached forces a

purchase of the remaining energy requirement. Setting an ‘upper’ limit is also a sensible way of managing your purchase decisions.

If you do not wish to ‘force’ through a purchase when a

trigger point is reached and instead use this facility to consider the market price at the right times for you- it will up to you to accept the price on a given day. Amber Energy will pass on the pricing and await your response. If you do not accept we will set new trigger points and continue to

monitor the markets.

FAQ’s

Setting upper and lower limits?As soon as you have decided to purchase your first % of your total energy consumption (tranche) you will be able to set upper and lower limits (trigger points). You should base this on what you are trying to achieve, how close you wish

to track the market, and your adversity to risk. A default will usually be set at 10% above and below the price you have already ‘locked in’.

What happens when I reach one of my limits/triggers?

If you have asked us to purchase when this limit is reached (on your behalf) we will close out the transaction for you and lock your pricing. Alternatively, you will receive a price via email or phone from us. You may then accept this price or reset your limits and continue to track the market.

LimitationsYou can only refresh your price three times before locking-in your second tranche of energy.

Can I change my trigger points?These can also be changed three times.

Do I have to wait for a trigger?No, you can decide to purchase at any time. You must

however, lock-in 100% of your planned energy usage no later than midday, five working days before your contract start date. If you fail to do this, your remaining energy requirement will be locked in on your behalf.
