Tuesday night parent group

This is a small sculpture of a group of five people standing 30cm tall. It represents a group of people that I met at a parenting course for troubled kids. We all sat politely but I could feel the anguish and despair of each person and represented it in their poses. It is made of small pieces of white felt hand stitched together and stuffed and sitting on a felt covered timber board.

How do you feel?

This is four from a group of nine portraits that represent young people that I would see while waiting in counsellor’s offices. Many sad & confused people would come in and out and I have tried to capture their look. These were prepared using conte crayon and charcoal . I have then covered them with mesh or lace and spray painted over them.

Cross section of the mind

This is a woodcut print 40 x 60 cms. The woodblock was prepared from plywood and cut using a router. The inspiration comes from images of cross sections of pine stems that were very beautiful. I then tried to picture what the inside of the mind may look like.
