How To Get Your Photography Business Started. Keith S. Black http://ReviewDslrCameras.com/Nikon-Reviews/ Taking pictures is obviously something you like and perhaps you've been you're thinking of starting your own business. It's fairly easy to get started as long as you have enough equipment to get going. If you have the right equipment you can start your business on a zero budget from a spare room or the kitchen table. This will be your "office" for the time being. Thanks to DSLR cameras, you no longer need a dark room to develop your exposures. If you have a personal computer and a photo editing software like photoshop you'll have all of what you need to get started. Having the basic equipment is all you need but I suggest you grab yourself a few more items. A different set of zoom lenses, camera filters are good to have. You want to ensure your images are clear and sharp. If you can buy 1 or 2 filters and 1 or 2 zoom lenses to start, that would be good. As you start to earn money you can buy more. You can start your business part-time and gradually slide into it full time as you start to gather more clients or you can just keep it part-time. Keeping it part-time while you gather clients makes sense and it's cost effective until you can sustain yourself with enough clients. You must take this business serious if you plan on getting clients. Legal Issues- Register your business name with your state and local agencies. This will allow you to issue receipts for your services rendered and also pay taxes on the income earned. Another thing you might considering doing is getting a logo designed and a business card. Try to present yourself as credible as possible. Since your business is going to be small, I would write a 1-3 page business plan. You don't need anything extravagant. This will help you stay within your start up budget and keep focused on your long term goal. Not to mention, you can write down all of the different marketing methods that you plan to use to make your business a success. This is a marketing business. Those that succeed in this business market their business. Your business plan is flexible and changeable. As your business goals change so will your business plans. If you're really serious, considering volunteering your services by doing birthday parties or school graduations. This is good for getting recommendations and a client portfolio. What will happen over time is, you'll get a lot of referrals and than you'll get to a point to where you cannot take on any new customers.

Taking pictures is obviously something you like and perhaps you've been you're thinking of starting your own business.

Legal Issues-Register your business name with your state and local agencies.

The above are just a few things that you should do when you're getting your business started. You can search online and in book stores for books related to getting your photography business up and running. This is not a complicated nor difficult business to start. Just remember, marketing is your friend. With serious marketing efforts, you'll be going full time within 90 days, if you choose to do so.
