How to make bread Ingredients
500g/ 1lb 2 oz Strong White Bread Flour 1 1/4 Teaspoon of Salt
1 1/2 Teaspoon of Bread Yeast 2 Teaspoon of Sugar 300ml 10fl oz Water
Butter (Oil tin)
Equipment you will need:
2 Mixing bowls Weighing scales Wooden spoon
Teaspoon Wire rack
Measuring jug Tea towel
Wash your hands thoroughly. Dry your hands thoroughly.
Use a separate cleaning cloth and antibacterial cleaner to
wipe down your work area.
On a separate work top place the ingredients you
will be using.
Weigh 500g of strong white flour. Place into a separate bowl
when this is weighed.
Measure 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of yeast.
Measure 1 and 1/4 teaspoons of salt.
Put into the flour bowl.
Measure 2 teaspoons of sugar.
Put into the flour bowl.
Now mix all the ingredients together.
Now measure 300ml of water.
Now gradually add the water to ingredients.
Mix the ingredients as you go.
Once all the water is added continue mixing for another 5 minutes.
Now add some flour to a clean work surface.
Now place your dough onto the floured surface.
Now knead the dough for 10 minutes.
Now oil a bread tin.
Place the dough into the bread tin. Now wet a tea towel.
Place the wet towel over the dough and leave somewhere at room
temperature.
After 2 hours the dough should have doubled in size.
Now put the dough into the middle of the oven
and bake for 35 minutes.
Remove the bread when the top is golden brown.
Leave to cool on a wire rack.
