FOR INDIVIDUALS Turn off your lights, TV's, DVD players,

computers when not in use. Turn down central heating. Turn down water heating setting Fill dish washer and washing machine

with a full load- saves on water, electricity, and on laundry detergent.

Do weekly shopping in one trip. Fill pots with only as much water as you

need for cooking.

TRANSPORTATION Car pooling Use a bike, or public transportation as

much as you can, to help save on gas. Purchase a more fuel efficient car. Take a long trip to get all your items

instead of taking a bunch of little ones. Try to reduce the number of flights you

take.

AT SCHOOL Use a Reusable water bottle instead of a

bunch of plastic water bottles. Recycle old papers in stead of throwing

them away. Separate paper and plastic garbage. Photo copy on both sides of the paper

so you don’t waste paper. At the end of each day you can unplug

power strips and make sure the lights are off

Turn off unnecessary air conditioning system or heating system when no one’s there.
