    Dear Parents,

    We are really excited to launch our new unit of inquiry as it leads us all on a journey to self-

    discovery. In this unit, we will be aiming to unfold how we are all unique and special as human

    beings. We hope that you all join us on this journey and we encourage you to get involved in usingdifferent methods of self-expression.

    Language Arts

    We will continue to develop skills in

    analyzing and mapping stories. Children

    now will apply the 6 + 1 Traits of Writing

    (ideas, organization, voice, word choice,

    conventions and presentations). The

    Math

    The children will continue to explore

    addition and subtraction of three digit

    numbers through manipulatives, story

    problems, etc

    Children will be exposed to the concept

    children will use writing as one of the

    ways to express themselves in relation

    to the unit of inquiry. In spelling, we will

    continue to work on the spelling of high-

    frequency and familiar words.

    Music

    This unit of inquiry is an exciting time in

    music as the children will be

    experimenting with singing, dancing, and

    miming. They will also practice using

    various musical instruments such as the

    Children will learn to move their bodies

    in a variety of ways in response to

    different tasks and stimuli. They will

    response to music, sounds, or situations.

    They will also be aware of the position

    of the body in relation to oneself and to

    another.

    IT

    In IT, children will be using programs

    such as Inspiration and Print Artist.

    They will be encouraged to use the

    internet to research about different

    Lebanese artists, poets, and musicians.

    Art

    In Art, children will be learning about

    art elements and how they are used

    creatively to express ideas and feelings

    by using techniques or recycling

    materials. They will be exposed to

    different artists and a glimpse at art
