Demonstrations Thursday 9 August11.15am-1pm: Ready, Steady, Cook with our celebrity chefsFollowing the official opening by Chris Jackson from Northern Rail and the Mayor of Kirklees, chefs Tim Bilton from The Butchers Arms and Barrington Douglas from Discovery Bay will be going head to head in a cook-off.

1pm-2pm: Bedazzled Cupcakes Jayne Gordon from Bedazzled will show you some fun and exciting decorating ideas for cupcakes.

2pm-3pm: Grumpy Mule Coffee Meltham’s independent coffee roasters, Grumpy Mule Distinctive Coffees, will take you around the world with their coffee demonstration, telling stories of travels to the Tropics and giving you the chance to taste some of the rarest brews.

3pm-4pm: The Clough House InnMartin Cockram will be cooking a selection of dishes from this seasons menu.

4pm-5pm: Ali MuradHead Chef Tahir Javed will be cooking some favourites from his Asian menu.

Friday 10 August11.30am-1pm: Huddersfield Giants V’s Wakefield WildcatsThe Giants will take on the Wildcats in our Ready, Steady, Cook competition, assisted by local chefs David Johnson from Temujin and Ashley Coley from the Royal & Ancient.

1pm-2pm: AJ Pies and PastiesAndrew Jones will demonstrate how to make award-winning pies.

2pm-3pm: Ministry of ChocolateChocolate tasting and a truffle making demonstration with Carl Turner. You’ll also learn about chocolate and wine pairing.

3pm-4pm: Raman’s Kitchen See how to make malai kofta (a creamy gravy with dumplings) andpuris (Indian Fried Flatbreads) with cucumber and mint raita with Geetha Varadan.

4pm-5pm: Yorkshire Rapeseed OilJennie Palmer will be cooking a range of dishes to demonstrate the versatile nature of healthy and locally sourced Rapeseed Oil.

Saturday 11 August11.30am-1pm: Ready, Steady, Cook with Real RadioReal Radio presenters Elisa Hilton and Pete Edgerton will be going head to head in a “friendly” competition assisted by Ashley Coley from the Royal & Ancient and Aaron Bradshaw from Rhubarb.

1pm-2pm: Round Green Venison Farm Robert Ramsden from Delifresh will be demonstrating some wonderful dishes using venison from Round Green Farm.

2pm-3pm: Bradley’s Restaurant Andrew Bradley will be cooking grilled goat’s cheese and asparagus salad with a soft poached egg and sauce vierge, lemon sole stuffed with king prawn mousse and a tropical Eaton Mess with mango coulis.

3pm-4pm: Foraging the Demijohn way!Demijohn founder Angus Ferguson presents his enlightening tale of 8 years at the forefront of the foraging revolution using some of his delicious products such as Sloe Gin and Elderflower Vinegar to bring his fascinating journey to life.

4pm-5pm: Neaversons Tea HouseHead Chef Nat Tallents from Neaversons Tea House will be cooking a favourite dish from their menu, complemented by one of their tasty cocktails.

Sunday 12 August11am-1pm: Young Chef of the Year sponsored by Huddersfield RotaryTwo Year 8 students from Moor End Academy, Abbey Chapman and Marcus Francois, will be battling it out to produce the best breakfast ever!

1pm-2pm: Mustard & Punch Richard Dunn will show you how to make a starter of mackerel scotch eggs with chilled gazpachio sauce and a main course of venison, peas and goats cheese charlotte.

2pm-3pm: La CachetteJonathan Nichols, head chef and owner of La Cachette will be demonstrating how to make a traditional French dessert.

3pm-4pm: Coddy’s Farm Andrew Colwill, farmer and butcher at Coddy’s Farm, will demonstrate the skill of pork butchery creating popular cuts, tasty dry cured bacon and family favourite sausages complete with delicious recipe ideas and cooking tips.

4pm-5pm: TemujinDavid Johnston will do a stir-fry demonstration using kangaroo and an easy to make Temujin’s sweet chilli sauce with ginger & garlic.

Festival at Dusk Enjoy the Festival until late on Friday and Saturday giving you more chance to soak up the atmosphere. The main festival bars and hot food stalls will be open until 10pm each night, giving you a great excuse for some alfresco dining and drinking in the Square.Friday 10 - From 7pmStart the weekend in style with live music from local band Storm who will be performing the very best rock and pop dancefloor fillers from the 60’s to present day.Saturday 11 - From 7pmOn Saturday we have Flashback, a renowned band from York, taking us back to the rock and roll days in Liverpool where the Beatles and other bands had so much influence on our music of today.

Saturday 21 July to Sunday 12 August Enjoy a cocktail in all of the venues and receive a limited edition glass at the festival. New for this year, we don’t recommend doing it all in one evening! Saturday 4 August, 2-5pm Discover some of the town’s finest restaurants with free taster dishes from their menu. Sample their delights and vote for your favourite to become Huddersfield Taste Trail Restaurant of the Year 2012.

Saturday 11 August Taste Trail – Packhorse Shopping Centre Tastes are changing at the Packhorse, come and try what’s new. Wander into the Packhorse on Saturday and taste the different foods on offer.
