Sara Airfield Comment: At 0143Z, eyes on Sara Airfield, Pentecost Island. The airfield, supporting infrastructure and lines of communications from the airfield all appeared serviceable.

Pentecost Island Comment: Pentecost island in general appeared unaffected by the cyclone. Civilian vehicles were observed on roads throughout the island and all observed infrastructure appeared to be intact. Two wharfs were observed on the island but appeared unsuitable for use. All observed villages had suitable helicopter landing zones within 100m of infrastructure.

Marwo-Naone Airfield Comment: At 0222Z, eyes on Marwo-Naone Airfield, Maewo Island. The airfield, supporting infrastructure and lines of communications from the airfield all appeared serviceable.

Maewo Island Comment: Maweo island in general appeared unaffected by the cyclone. Civilian vehicles were observed on roads throughout the islands and all observed infrastructure appeared to be intact. Numerous schools were located with children in attendance, and are assessed to be undertaking normal activities. No wharfs were observed on the island. Most villages had suitable helicopter landing zones within 100m and the remaining villages had serviceable roads connecting them.

Logana Airfield Comment: At 0244Z, eyes on Logana airfield, Ambae Island. The airfield, supporting infrastructure and lines of communications from the airfield all appeared serviceable. A civilian aircraft was observed on the parking apron.

Ambae Island Comment: Ambae Island in general appeared unaffected by the cyclone. Civilian vehicles were observed on roads throughout the island and all observed infrastructure appeared to be intact. Comment: At 0340Z, eyes on a Le Tangoa Airfield which was observed to have one light aircraft taxiing for take-off. The runway appeared suitable for rotary and fixed wing operations. The village adjacent to the airfield was again observed to have sustained significant destruction. Connecting roads appear partially obstructed by debris but clearable.

Comment: At 0412Z, eyes on a downed communications tower with accompanying damaged infrastructure. A helicopter, probably civilian search and rescue, was observed touched down near the tower. It is assessed that the helicopter is possibly loading or unloading supplies.
