IAM Level 6 Extended Diploma in Business and Administrative Management (QCF)

The IAM Level 6 Extended Diploma in Business and Administrative Management is inspired by the MBA (Master in Business Administration) model and approaches learning in a practical, applied way. It is aimed at practising managers, and aspiring senior managers, who wish to develop their skills through multiples levels of management. This qualification is equivalent in both level and size to a bachelor degree, with a large number of units covering a broad range of topics, which become more demanding as the learner progresses through the qualification. The wide range of mandatory units ensures that each learner obtains understanding in a large number of areas within the field of strategic management. A flexible assessment structure enables each learner to complete the required assessments in a format which is convenient to the learner. This qualification is aimed at:

• School leavers aged 18 and over • Learners at work who seek to gain knowledge and understanding of business and administrative

management and their application, at a range of levels • Employers • Further Education (FE) colleges • Private colleges • Overseas learning providers

Qualification Accreditation Number: 600/1665/6 Credit Value: 360 Guided Learning Hours (GLH): 1515 This qualification requires the learner to obtain 360 credits. This will be achieved through the completion of 24 mandatory units. 14 of the units are grouped into six assessment groups.

Assessment

Each of the three mandatory Level 4 assessment groups is assessed by either a single, three hour examination or a single, 2000-2500 word assignment. Each of the three mandatory Level 5 assessment groups is assessed by either a single, three hour examination or a single, 2500-3000 word assignment. Unit 661, 662 and 664 are each assessed by either a three hour examination or a 3000-3500 word assignment. Units 663 and 667 are each assessed by a 3000-3500 word reflective portfolio. Unit 669 is assessed by a 3000-3500 word business research project. The remaining units are each assessed by a 3000-3500 word assignment. A score of 40% is required to pass each assessment; results are graded.
