§ Installation

§ Configure one or more ‘Mediators’ which extract the data from the supported sources

§ Configure the single ‘Predictive Insights’ ‘Core’ for output

§ Start the desired metric extraction ‘tasks’ for each of the data sources. This should result in Predictive Insights CSV files being produced

§ Configure Predictive Insights for ingestion using its ‘Mediation Tool’ in the normal way. Sample Predictive Insights ‘model’ files are provided as a starting point.

§ Create AppD mediator

§ Configure ’connectivity’

§ Configure metric extraction schedule

§ Check ‘connectivity’

§ Configure metrics to be extracted

§ Configure output for Predictive Insights

§ Start metric ‘task’

§ Note: The main documentation (Spl_AppD_Dyna_Ater_MedPack_v1.4.pdf) supplied in the zip package describes the specific configuration/setup for each of mediators.

§ Select Mediators and then, the ‘Create’ option

• Select desired ‘Mediation Pack Type’ and provide instance name

Installing ’models’

§ A sample set of Predictive Insights models are provided

§ Assuming that you have a Predictive Insights Mediation ‘project’ dir established, copy those files from the installation distribution to that dir

• cp /usr/share/j9accelerators/ibm/pamodel/* ~/workspace/MyIntegrationProject

§ These models are a *starting point*

§ You may want to change them for your particular environment

§ Minimally, you should change the file path to point at your chosen files

§ Group name might need to change depending on what you named your ‘instance’• E.g. change ‘all’ in these two locations

Moving data from Mediators to Predictive Insights

§ Use any of the standard Predictive Insights techniques

§ Add ‘scadmin’ to ‘j9Accelerators’ group and modify file permissions to share

§ Create files with ‘all’ r/w permissions

§ Create cron job to copy/move files from Mediators to Predictive Insights

Trouble Shooting

§ No files in o/p dir ?

§ Ensure there is data in the upstream source

§ Check ‘connection’

§ Single extractions should pass before moving on to scheduled extractions

§ Check logs (/var/logs/j9accelerators/) for issues
