Parent Notices:
Thank you to all the parents that attended the school picnic on Friday night. It was a gorgeous
evening – long may the weather last. Thanks also to the parents that assisted with swimming on the
evening.

Homework Week 7 Due in Monday 30th
ICC Cricket World Cup (within New Zealand only)
I am learning to
1. Locate where the ICC Cricket World Cup venues are in NZ and show this on a map. (Name
these venues and the cities)
2. Research the distances between venues (city to city) within New Zealand.
3. Plan traveling routes – or ways to travel for visitors from outside of New Zealand to get to
the matches. Include all modes of transport and time taken to travel. 4. Extension work: add some site seeing locations along the way
To be successful I will:
1. Research, find and print a road map of New Zealand.
1. Locate the main venues the ICC Cricket World Cup is playing at. Name these venues and the
cities
2. Find out the distance between venues – as if you would be travelling to each venue. 3. Write down the traveling distances and times between each venue.
3. Write directions of how to travel between each venue. Using terms like north, south, east
and west.
4. Make a list of exciting locations you could stop at along the away. Name the locations and
the list the sites.
Focus and reflection from last weeks homework:
Presentation is as important as the research. If you are taking the time to research properely, take the time to show your information that engages your audience.
When answering questions – use the key words in your question to recreate the question into a sentence. E.g. How many teams are in the Cricket World Cup?
There are 14 teams in the Cricket World Cup.
