Task 8: Very large scale PV power

generation systems• Examines and evaluates the feasibility of Very

Large Scale Photovoltaic Power Generation (VLS-PV) Systems, which have a capacity ranging from over multi-MW to GW

• Aims to accelerate and implement real VLS-PV projects by

– Performing active dissemination and communication with stakeholders

– Developing recommendations of how to overcome hurdles/ barriers, from viewpoints of technical and non-technical





Task 9: Deployment of PV technologies -

co-operation with developing countries

• Continues research and publications as specific

to rural electrification and in particular as related

to the Millenium Development goals;

• Deploys to emerging regions the technical work

undertaken by other subtasks and formulates

specific research and adaptation as required

• Reaches out to focussed emerging markets,

working with selected megaphones.





Task 12: PV environmental,

health & safety activities

• Quantifies the EH&S profiles of PV in

comparison to other energy technologies

• Defines and addresses EH&S and sustainability

issues that are important for market growth

• Disseminates the results of the EH&S analyses

to stakeholders, policy makers and the general

public
