MILANO:THE CRADLE OF DESIGNAND INDUSTRY
Network: Erasmus + / ESPCourse catalogue:ied.edu/milan
At the heart of a metropolitan area that bears comparison with London and New York, Milan is for the whole world a synonym for art, industry, finance, design and fashion. It is no coincidence that IED was born in Milan, drawing the inspiration for its teaching methods from the know-how, the thinking and the innovation typical of Milan hinterland and its history.

It is the point where cultural diversities converge, and the theatre where all the country leading cultural movements and events stage their débuts. The city rich plastic creativity, inventive capacity, fascinating colour schemes and “re-invented” materials are a genuine sign of Brazil multiple identities.

“Previously this year I had the chance to take an exchange Semester at IED Milano, which proved to be a great experience for several reasons. First of all, because I experienced a slightly different approach in the way of studying fashion that personally I feel like it would be more beneficial for me in my professional future career. This covers the meaning, that as I observed, at IED, the freedom of creativity in creating a collection is more appreciated, and this kind of vision
is something I would like to base my studies and time on. After studying in Italy, it became clear to me that it’s highly possible that I would like to settle and build a career in this country, where the art and the lifestyle could be a constant inspiration for a person working in the arts industry, so I believe that taking an exchange is an amazing opportunity to open our horizon, and gives us an easier path in making decisions in the future.”
