I’m trapped inside.

The days are long in this

room of solitude,

My room is small there’s no mistake,

I’m trapped inside this suffocating

place.

The doors are locked; there’s

no way out,

The windows are shut; I’m losing my

touch,

No one can hear my plea. I ask myself,

why me?

I begin another day in this

secluded space,

Time inside this place has no meaning. All I’m doing is

waiting

Terror courses through my veins, driving me

insane.

I’m losing all hope and starting to believe I’ll

never break free,

Pacing back and forth, wondering where I

went wrong,

Closing my eyes, hoping this will just go away.

I want to give in and quit trying to

escape from this isolated space,

There’s just no way to make this

fear dissipate,

The time has come to look back at the past and see a glimpse of

who I really am.

What I find are dear memories of days

gone by,

My friends that support me during my most despairing times.

My family that drives me insane

but loves me all the same.

I rise with new determination to start

the day,

The sun fills the room with its

illuminating rays,

Showing me new paths I may take to find my way.

I finally awake. The light has guided me away

from that place,

The sunlit rays have opened new

ways and possibilities,

Now I can shape the upcoming days and choose my own destiny,

I’m heading down the road not knowing which way to go,

If I keep to the path and don’t lose my goals, I won’t be trapped there anymore.
