伝統的な「漢字」をリデザインするRedesigning the tradi t ional Kanj i

IMAカーペットのデザインモチーフは日本の文字「漢字」です。漢字で現代: modernを意味する“今“をパターン化して一つのユニットをつくりました。ユニットを回転させたり幾つもつなげたりすることにより、無限の組み合わせが可能です。規則的に並べて幾何学的な模様をつくることも、無規則にならべてばらばらの模様をつくることもできます。“今”という漢字によるユニットにより、その印象を保ちながらも、模様や大きさなどをいかようにも展開させることができます。無限の可能性を持った普遍的なデザインです。

The design mot i f of the “ IMA” blanket is the Japanese Kanj i word “今 ” , which means “modern”.We have transformed this t radi t ional Japanese character into a modern product.Rotat ing and connect ing uni ts of “ IMA” makes unl imited var iat ions of pat terns. Geometr ical pat terns can be created by combining the uni ts together in an order ly fashion. Placing them irregular ly resul ts in a random pattern. The var iat ions of “ IMA” patterns are inf in i te.“ IMA” wi l l hold an impact as the patterns are the real izat ion of the very meaning of the word “mo-derni ty” i tsel f . I t is a design that is universal , wi th unl imited possibi l i t ies.

USAGE DESCRIPTION

このブランケットは、オランダ、Tilburgで一つ一つ織り上げています。イタリア製モヘアとオランダ製コットンを組み合わせ、両面が異なる肌触りになっています。モヘア面は暖かく保温性が高く、コットン面はさらさらとした肌触りになっているので、季節に応じて使い分けることが可能です。皆さんがIMA blanketに “現代性” を感じ、永く使って頂けることを願っています。

This blanket is woven one by one in Ti lburg, the Nether lands.The combinat ion of mohair fabr icated in I ta ly and cotton from the Nether lands give di fferenttextures on each side.The mohair s ide retains heat and warmth whi le the cotton s ide gives a smooth refreshing texture.
