Class Descriptions

1. Boys Hip Hop Dance.

2. Brother to Brother Students will learn how to present themselves as young men that demonstrate self-confidence.

3. Sister to Sister- Students will learn how to present themselves as young ladies that show self-confidence.

4. Guitar (country)- Students will learn various country music songs to play on the acoustic guitar.

5. Science Activities- Students will participate in WOW science related activities.

6. Home Economics- Students will learn household management skills including basic sewing and cooking techniques.

7. Card Games Students will participate in various card games including Uno, Rummy, etc.

8. Crafty w/ Paint- Students will learn about and create art works. ($5 Fee required)

9. Law Enforcement Students will learn the basics of becoming a law enforcement officer.

10. Yoga Students will learn the origin and benefits of yoga and participate in yoga sessions.

11. Woodworking Students will use basic tools and will create wooden projects. ($5 Fee required)

12. Puzzles/ Word Logic

13. Dominoes- Students will learn basic moves and participate in matches. (set of dominoes required.)

14. Debate- Students will learn the mechanics of an effective debate through practice and critique.

15. Fantasy Football Students will participate in a Fantasy Sports team.

16. Virtual Team Building- Students will learn roles and social interaction within teams to perform tasks together.

17. String art / doodling Students will learn to create works of art including extreme dot-to-dot.

18. Photography Students will learn about digital cameras, photo-shopping techniques, etc. Students will have to provide their own camera.

19. Quiz Bowl Students will participate in quiz bowl rounds.

20. French- Students will learn basic French, words/phrases and French culture.

21. Chess Students will learn the rules and basic moves of Chess and participate in matches.

22. Coloring Students will learn the art of relaxation through intricate coloring techniques. ($3 Fee required)

23. Manga Students will create and discuss Manga and share their artwork with their classmates.

24. Operation Christmas Child- Students will promote and collect items to fill shoe boxes for children worldwide.

25. Board games Students will participate in various board games including Sorry, Monopoly, etc.

27. Origami- Students will learn the art of origami and basic skills to complete various projects.

28. Service Projects Students will help various agencies around Prattville.

29. Military Appreciation Prepare for the upcoming Veterans Day Assembly (paint props, etc.)

30. Nerf (Touch) Football

31. Life Lessons with Andy Griffith Students will watch the TV show and participate in corresponding lessons.

32. Listening to the Classics Students will learn about classical music including famous composers, etc.

33. Hospitality Students will show hospitality to various groups around Prattville.

34. Prattville Rocks Students will paint rocks to add to the local collection

35. Royalty Inc Ladies will learn about girly-girl things.

36. Crossfit Students will participate in a WOD.

37. Harry Potter Fan Club

38. Growth Mindset Students who want to learn a new way of thinking to help them be successful in life.

39. RACKs Random Acts of Cat Kindness Students will anonymously perform random acts of helpfulness.

40. Trivia Crack Students will learn random trivia.

41. Aerobics Students will participate in an aerobic workout.

42. Adulting 101 Students will learn to sew a button, write a check, build a shelf, make a budget, etc.

DIRECTIONS:

Each student will and list THREE choices of classes to participate in for ONE semester. Students may NOT change Catalyst Classes during the semester. We will review students choices and make assignments and provide information regarding location, etc. For classes with fees, bring your money on the first class.
