Additionally while at Euromoney, Richard was president and editor-in-chief of Miami-based Latin Finance, the leading publishing, directory and conference company devoted to finance and investment in Latin America. Richard has served on a variety of both public and private boards including Carnegie Hall, 24/7 Real Media, American Museum of Natural History, and Interaudi Bank, where he has served as chairman of the Audit Committee. He was educated at St. John’s College, Oxford, the Ludwig-Maximilians Institute at the University of Munich and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.

Richard Burns is a general partner of Isis Ventures Partners and chairman of its operating companies, which include: Latin Trade Group; Manhattan Media; and Datarisk Global Holdings. In New York, Isis has built a market-leading community media enterprise. In Latin America, its holdings represent the leading information, networking and business services company for corporations operating regionally. Richard formed Isis Ventures with his co-general partner James Lyle in 2002.

Until he stepped down in May 2002, Richard was president and Chief Executive Officer of Thomson Financial Media (TFM), a company holding the banking, insurance and electronic commerce media assets of The Thomson Corporation. TFM was a major publisher and developer of software tools for professionals in the financial services industry with revenues in excess of $300 million. Prior to joining Thomson, Richard was the president and CEO of Euromoney
