General Signal Pump Group has unveiled its new Aurora Pump range of in-l ine moun ted cen- trifugal pumps for the commer- cial market. Identif ied as the 326A series, the p u m p s will handle capacit ies to 140 gpm, heads up to 16.8 m and tem- pera tures to 225°F.

The 326A series is specially designed and engineered to meet the toughest demands of com- mercial bu i ld ing hea t ing and cooling systems. Pumping appli- cations include hot water heater circulation, pressure booster sys- tems and cooling towers for office buildings, hotels, hospi- ta ls , u n i v e r s i t i e s a n d ware- houses. The pumps have direct flange to flange compat ib i l i ty which allows the replacement of existing pumps with-out piping and flange modifications.

In addit ion, the 326A series p u m p has an integral p u m p / motor shaft, making spring-type couplings and shaft ex tens ions u n n e c e s s a r y and e l i m i n a t i n g p r e m a t u r e n u i s a n c e fail-ures. the new pumps are available in bo th s t a n d a r d and bu i ld to order configurat ions for opti- m u m p u m p selection flexibility.

U l t r a M a x ~ c o n c e n t r i c gea r drives, combining the high per- f o r m a n c e of p a r a l l e l - s h a f t drives with the economy of a gea rmotor , have been in t ro - duced by Fa lk C o r p o r a t i o n . These drives combine low main- t e n a n c e r e q u i r e m e n t s a n d super ior durabi l i ty resul t ing in low lifetime operat ing costs and improved opera t ing efficiency. The high-torque densi ty Ultra- Max drives are said to offer ini t ia l savings of up to 30% over comparably ra ted paral lel-shaft gear drives. The uni t s are avail- able in 10 sizes with ou tpu t torque ranging from 282 Nm to 67 800 Nm.

The Ul t raMax drive's dur- abili ty is enhanced by several design features. Rugged tapered roller bear ings at all locat ions provide super ior load-carrying capacity compared to ball bear- ings. Grease-purgeable seal cav- i t ies pro tec t seals from grit, abrasives and other contami- nants . Viton seals can be fitted for severe duty applicat ions.
