EQ UIPMENT NEWS The three pump groups are driven by either 3-phase motors or single phase AC motors. The exclusive use of high quality materials guarantees a long service life and the use of powerful permanent magnets guarantees high trans- mission forces even at high temperatures. Friction losses are reduced by the use of optimally matched materials for the bearings. Downtimes are minimised by the use of small number of components and by the fact that wearing parts can be replaced without requiring special tools. In-line pumps built to keep cool General Signal Pump Group has unveiled its new Aurora Pump range of in-line mounted cen- trifugal pumps for the commer- cial market. Identified as the 326A series, the pumps will handle capacities to 140 gpm, heads up to 16.8 m and tem- peratures to 225°F. The 326A series is specially designed and engineered to meet the toughest demands of com- mercial building heating and cooling systems. Pumping appli- cations include hot water heater circulation, pressure booster sys- tems and cooling towers for office buildings, hotels, hospi- tals, universities and ware- houses. The pumps have direct flange to flange compatibility which allows the replacement of existing pumps with-out piping and flange modifications. In addition, the 326A series pump has an integral pump/ motor shaft, making spring-type couplings and shaft extensions unnecessary and eliminating premature nuisance fail-ures. the new pumps are available in both standard and build to order configurations for opti- mum pump selection flexibility.
