Background Barack Hussein Obama II is the 44th and current president

of the United States. He has been in office since 2009 and is the first African American to take office. President Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 4th, 1961 and is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School where he was president of the Harvard Law Review.

President Obama was sworn into office on Tuesday January 20, 2009 which was held in Washington D.C. to start Barack’s first term. After his first term he was then re-elected in November 2012 and was sworn back into office on January 20, 2013.

Barack Obama is married to Michelle Obama and has 2 daughters who’s names are Malia Obama and Sasha Obama.

President Obama stresses the importance of hoe all Americans are made equal and because of this will give us peace in the United States

This quote shows how he has taken the Oath for this country but more specifically the oath was to God and the country and not party or faction.

people and uphold our values through strength of arms and rule of law. We will show the courage to try and resolve our differences with other nations peacefully.”

President Obama is stating the fact that America will stay strong and peaceful as long as we do it together.

President Obama’s constant use of the word “Together” Shows us, the people of the United States, how the United States can accomplish even the most difficult of task as long as it is done together .

Powerful Lines “What makes us exceptional, what makes us American is

our allegiance to an idea articulated in a declaration made more than two centuries ago.”

Literary Devices that were used “Our brave men and women in uniform, tempered by the

flames of battle, are unmatched in skill and courage.” This sentence would be an example of a hyperbole

because he used the word flames when he was describing how harsh and cruel the battles were that these men and women have been in.
