Dear Parents,

Another eventful month, another Dipscoop report to go with it! The month of August brings with it patriotic fervour and the true sentiment of being a proud Indian. We bring you glimpses of the celebrations across the School and the eventful activities. INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS: Sataar saal ki azadi ... yaad karo kurbani 15 August 2016 - Vivacity and patriotic fervour marked the celebration of the 70th Anniversary of Independence Day. Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of Independence the Chief Guest Ms. Naina Jaiswal, world renowned Table Tennis player, accompanied by the Principal and Headmistresses hoisted the National Flag with the singing of the National Anthem. An astonishing all-rounder with a great many achievements in her kitty, the distinguished Chief Guest inspired the students to do their best in all spheres of life. ”Live like a scholar and die like a soldier.” This inspirational quote said by her, radiated a sense of patriotism within the students. This was followed by the school choir singing a euphonious medley of various songs taken from 7 languages and the students putting up a contemporary dance performance amidst grey fanfare, showing their love for the nation. A motivational speech was given by two students of IX highlighting the importance of the freedom struggle along with the presentation of a talk show, emphasising the meaning of freedom to different people of the society. Right from the choir and dance which had 70 students each to the quotes which were seventy in number, no stone was left unturned to put up an event of such great significance.

Students of classes II & III were also busy with activities. To raise awareness about freedom fighters and rich culture of India, a power point presentation was also shown to them. Colouring and painting sessions were also conducted. It was heartening to witness the students singing patriotic songs with clear diction. This showed their patriotic fervour.

The students of Prep A& C performed a special assembly to signify the patriotism and reverence towards our country. The assembly began with the following note by the children introducing the importance of the Independence Day. “India, as a nation woke up to see its first spark of freedom at the dawn of 15th August, 1947.Celebrating independence and remembering the sacrifices, this day embarks upon every Indian, a feeling of pride to be born in a country like India. On this 70thth Independence Day, we solemnly pledge to become good citizens and make India proud.” This was followed by a skit showcasing all the freedom fighters.

To portray the unity and harmony of India, all the boys danced to the energetic beats of Vande Mataram. The dance showcased different religions, states and armed forces of India. The sanctity of the Indian flag was beautifully rendered by the boys dressed in orange, white and green. JANMASTHAMI CELEBRATIONS Introduction to Janmashtami was very enticing with children speaking about Lord Krishna’s naughty antics. The musical dramatization of Krishna’s Raasleela was beautifully performed by all the girls. They were colourfully dressed with Krishna and Radha performing on center stage.
