After 9 years of working on The PC Weenies, it was time for me to expand my horizons and focus on telling some stories. Ive always wanted to try my hand at multi-panel comics, but for a long time resisted the idea due to fear the fear of falling flat on my face for the entire world to see. Well, Im not afraid anymore. Youll see my efforts, warts and all, as I come to terms with this new format. There will be some slice-of-life type strips, some autobiographical pieces, some action and adventure, and whatever else strikes my mood. Its annoying and has been considered spam for the last five years. Many of the service providers offer sub level work and think that having built a school or two in some city with an unpronounceable name is sufficient. To be sure, there is great artistic talent in India; it will take another generation for the animation work of that country to be the same level of other places, like Vietnam or Korea. But now, the proposals have spilt over into the comic book industry specifically the Web comics grouping. This morning, I received an email from some nondescript studio fro m India titled web comics portal from India Hi, We have a web comics portal from India www.insertindianstudiohere.com, currently comics are available in English and 3 other Indian languages. These comics are based on Indian Moral stories. Find time to review the www.insertindianstudiohere.com and provide us listing in webcomics section of comibookbin.com with warm regards Now, Im not sure what they are trying to sell and its obvious that they are clueless about business etiquette in North America. I dont like to be given orders from people in emails especially when its one sided. Frankly, they do a disservice to other genuine and competent members of Indias comic book industry. I find it interesting to see that something that has plagued one industry for years has finally morphed into something else that will now plague a smaller industry today. Wonder if Ill start receiving requests every week now? One thing for sure, I will atomize the pitch of any similar Indian studio that tries to sell its wares in the comments below.

'Then and Now' wala story narration style mera favourite hai. Flashback sequences interspersed in current story line. Lekin aisa usually movies me hota hai, ya mere all time favourite tv show LOST me hota tha. Comics me Maine usually aisa narration kam dekha hai. Mujhe ye bat is cmx me sabse achhi lagi. Secondly, ek fresh story, jo Dhruva ki personal life ko affect karti hai aur story characters as well as readers ko emotional level par touch karti hai. Ek fan apni story me wo elements dikha sakta hai jo wo as a fan us popular writer ki kahaniyon me dekhna chahta tha. For ex. *) - Shiva: The Legends of Immortal, Book 2 (Vimanika Comics)

Rahul R. Sharma In one word: AWSOME. The way of storytelling reminds me of good old Amar Chitra Katha, very simple and easy to understand language. Amazing Artwork, Specially Bhagwan Vishnu and Bhagwan Shiv both are drawn very nicely throughout the book, with Mata Parvati getting a close second :) I specially liked the 2-page wide Drawing of Mahadev's Marriage Procession. All in all, it was really a pleasure to read this comi book :) Now if I may, I want to give a few suggestions.. 1. Can we use words like 'Devs, Asurs and Veds' in place of 'Devas, Asuras and Vedas'? I personally feel that an extra 'a' is not needed.

2. With nothing against the way of storytelling, I feel that sometimes the story gives an ignorant reader the idea that even the Three Superior Gods "Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh" are bounded by human emotions and weaknesses.. For example, in Book 1, Bhagwan Vishnu and Brahma started to fight like egoistic fools(really sorry for the word), Lord Shiv went into oblivion after the death of Sati like a normal human who fails in love..my point is, that we know that the Holy Trinity is beyond petty fights and sorrows and other human emotions, and every such incidence recorded in Purans happened as a "LEELA" of the Gods either to cause a greater good or to give an important lesson to humans. But if you can Devote one page of the comic(the page after the comic ends) to explain such actions in detail, it will be really helpful :) 3. It was a very wise step to make Lord Shiv himself the narrator, I guess if you make the dialogues a little deeper and more philosophical(As the thoughts and talks of a God must be in my opinion), I am sure it will be an improvement. :) Phew, perhaps the longest review for this book till now, haha :D In the end, it is a must have book for everybody, about the suggestions, please take them as a request from a Vimanik, nothing more, if you like them, Great, if not, still fine :) Thank You Jai Shiv Shankar

AnujJust finished reading Aghori Book 2 and I simply couldn't stop myself from writing a review straightaway! My mind has been BLOWN!!! I thought Book 1 was good but this next installment in the journey of Vira is simply fantastic! Vira is still a reluctant hero but you can feel in this book that he is finding his ground. I love this issue better coz it is much more profound and philosophical. It makes you read each and every word very slowly and forces you to pause and ponder the meaning behind every panel. The narrative is really powerful and the quality of artwork is WOW!!! I love how the entire color scheme of the book changes along with what is going through in Vira's mind.

'Bantul The Great' is a very popular comic strip character created by legendary bengali artist 'Narayan Dabnath in the year 1965. BANTUL is a simple young boy of about 18-19 years of age hailing from Bengal in the sixties. He may be innocent but he is awfully strong. Bantul lives in a village in Bengal with his aged aunt 'PISHI' and two pesky cousins 'BHOJA' and 'GOJA' whose aim in life is to create mischief and make life difficult for Bantul and the villagers. They run away from school, play tricks on everyone and frequently steal food from Bantul who loves to eat. Like most comical villains they are often

beaten up, flattened to the ground and land up all kinds of miserable conditions but they still manage to bounce back in no time! Bantul with his dog 'BHEDO' (Lazy Bones), pet ostrich 'UTO' (OSTY) and loyal friend 'LAMBAKARNA' (Big Ears) always manages to teach the infernal racketeers a lesson. How? Well, Bantul is a body builder with a chest size 44 and thin legs to go with it. He can do things we would normally only visualize in our dreams. His blow is stronger than a hurricane and he has no problems lifting tall buildings or bending metal rods.

BANTUL has been around in our lives for 48 years. If he aged like us mortals he would probably be around 70 now but since he is immortal he is still nineteen, sports tiny shorts and a vest and roams around bare footed along the alleyways of Bengal. Saving the susceptible people from the antics of Bhoja and Goja has simply become a habit for him, that is what makes him endearing, and that is what makes him BANTUL THE GREAT. Powers - Colossal strength, sturdy body, can stop a train, run through a wall breaking it to pieces etc. BANTUL now, is probably one of the oldest comic superhero of India and his creator NARAYAN DEBNATH is the record holder of creating comics for over 50+ years.
