Indonesia – New requirements for Baby Clothing 10-06-14 | Bangkok, The regulation Decree No. 07/M-IND/PER/2/2014, signed by the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, has been effective since May 17, 2014. It declares that certain baby clothing imported or produced, distributed and marketed in Indonesia shall comply with Indonesian National Standard requirement (SNI 7617:2013). (A) Scope: Baby clothing including accessories in direct contact with skin, made from woven and knitted fabric of various kinds and blends of fibres, for infants up to the age of 36 months old. Pads, sanitary pads, diapers and related items for babies. (B) Requirement for baby clothing: Test item Requirement Azo Dyes ^1 Not used Formaldehyde ^2 Not detected Extractable heavy metals: - Cadmium (Cd) Max. 0.1 mg/kg - Copper (Cu) Max. 25 mg/kg - Lead (Pb) Max. 0.2 mg/kg - Nickel (Ni) Max. 1.0 mg/kg ^1 : List of group III amines compound (MAK-Germany) category 1 and 2 according to SNI 7334.1 Appendix A. ^2 : Based on SNI ISO 14184-1 if less than 20 mg/kg are reported “not detected”. (C) SNI Mark Certification SNI mark certification (SPPT-SNI) is issued by the Indonesia Product Certification Body (LSPro) based on testing conducted at a testing laboratory that is appointed by the Minister of Industry with the following conditions: An Indonesia testing laboratory accredited by the National Accreditation Body of Indonesia (KAN) in accordance with the scope of the product in SNI 7617: 2013; or An overseas testing laboratory that has signed the Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) with APLAC/ILAC and a stat testing laboratory with pre-existing bilateral agreements with Indonesia in the field of technical regulation. (D) Insurance Insurance of SPPT-SNI shall conform by the guidelines of national standardization (PSN) 302: 2006: Assessment Suitability - Fundamental Product Certification through quality conformance testing of products in accordance with SNI 7617: 2013 Overview of SNI 7617:2013 Newsletter June 2014

The regulation Decree No. 07/M-IND/PER/2/2014, signed by the

Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, has been effective

since May 17, 2014. It declares that certain baby clothing imported

or produced, distributed and marketed in Indonesia shall comply

with Indonesian National Standard requirement (SNI 7617:2013).

(A) Scope:

Baby clothing including accessories in direct contact with skin, made from woven and knitted fabric of various kinds and blends of fibres, for infants up to the age of 36 months old.

Pads, sanitary pads, diapers and related items for babies.

(B) Requirement for baby clothing:
