problems that are inconsistent with the MARC guidelines.During the review look for and identify the location of such things as:

• Local Information• MARC tags with data unique to a specific bank/branch • Data entered for searching purposes in MultiLIS fields

rather than the standard MARC tags (i.e.: target audience information (521), reading program information (526), award information (586), and funding information (590 or item note)

• Item information belonging on the bib record instead of the item record

Review reports to identify local cataloging practices and address problems that are inconsistent with the MARC guidelines.
