The Information Services Department maintains the County’s

computer systems, network(s), applications, processes and services, and

provides support and advice to the County Departments.

We strive to optimize the integration of computer systems and

technology and to insure security of information assets.

24/7 on-call support for critical systems and applications



Network To implement and maintain a reliable and secure networking

infrastructure.

We continually monitor, engineer and design the network

with the goal of anticipating future needs and requirements of the county.

The network is composed of servers, storage systems, routers, switches, wired and wireless devices, firewalls, filtering

appliances, and virtual devices.



Communications Internet access which includes bandwidth and management

(Courthouse / Appleton / Parks / Ledgeview / Highway / remote access)

Wireless Access (Wi-Fi)

Provide continuous Wi-Fi access throughout the courthouse.

Work with Human Services (Appleton), Highway, Parks

to provide access at remote locations



Communications

Cell signal boosters installed to improve cell signal in the courthouse lower level

Point-to-point and virtual private networks (VPN) to send and receive data across shared or public networks while enforcing the functionality, security and management policies of the county network.

Desktop virtualization is used to present the county employees with the same look and feel across devices with secure access to applications and content anywhere they use the network.



Backup and Recovery

Systems, files and applications are backed up at scheduled times during the day, overnight and on weekends.

Provides for restoration of deleted, lost or corrupted data when necessary.

Recommends Multi-function Copier/Printer/Fax machines

Purchases and maintains all paper supplies for the courthouse

Maintains the county website and updates per department request.
