When will the transition from IBM to Lenovo take place?
IBM and Lenovo will transition system x business and associated maintenance in October (IBM date to be
determined) Once the transition occurs all orders will need to be placed to Lenovo.
How will this affect the IBM High Volume storage products?
IBM will retain the entire storage portfolio. IBM will be moving all entry storage products into the AAS
system starting in September and continuing the transition into October. Lenovo will hold an OEM
agreement with IBM to resell entry storage products through the HVEC system and Ingram plans to inventory
these OEM’d products through Lenovo beginning in mid-October. These High Volume storage products will
also continue to be orderable as IBM products via direct ship orders through Ingram Micro. Business
partners will have the option to order Lenovo OEM inventoried products or IBM products via direct ship.
What is the last date an IBM business partner can place a System x/Flex order with Ingram Micro?
IBM business partners can place System x/Flex orders with Ingram Micro at any time. Orders can be fulfilled

of the order. We expect to continue our strong System x/Flex inventory position throughout this transition.
The last day Ingram Micro can place System x inventory or direct ship orders with IBM is on Sep 24th at 12pm
EST. IBM will make their best effort to ship all orders through Sep 30. Any orders not shipped by this date by

resubmission.

How will Ingram Micro be supporting my business after the transition to Lenovo?
Ingram Micro is committed to a seamless transition for our partners. The resources that support the IBM and
Lenovo x86 server businesses today will continue to support the Lenovo x86 server business, including the
Lenovo high volume storage and maintenance business through this transition. Contact detail provided
below.
How will this affect Ingram Micro’s inventory?
Ingram Micro is committed to the same standards of System x/Flex inventory throughout the transition
to Lenovo. However, due to the nature of the transition, Ingram Micro will experience 1 week which we
are unable to order with the vendor. We are taking forecasting requests from our partners to ensure
ample inventory is on hand for upcoming projects so we encourage partners to talk through upcoming
projects with the appropriate Ingram Micro team member (see contact info below). On day 1 of the
transition to Lenovo, Ingram Micro will begin placing inventory orders with Lenovo to continue to
support market demand.
How will programs such as deal registration, and new customer bonus be affected?
IBM will transfer all approvals to Lenovo on day 1 for product in scope. This includes special bids, deal
registrations, and bonus bid codes. You will not have to re-apply for these programs. For more detail on
how the Deal registration program will work please refer to the Business Partner Readiness Letter NA
IBM supplied in September. (Click here to view Lenovo transition content)
Will Ingram Micro report reseller sales of Lenovo System x and high volume storage products to
Lenovo once the sale is complete?
Yes. We will continue electronically reporting reseller sales of these products but to Lenovo rather than
IBM.
