car, but was unsuccessful at the first attempt. Pedro was finally forced into the car with Ofc. Huston's assistance. ­

Pedro was transported to Meriden Police HQ via my marked patrol vehicle. Once in the sally port, Pedro refused three requests to get out of my vehicle. I finally assisted Pedro out of the vehicle and into the temporary holding. cell, Pedro remained. uncooperative and immediately spun around when I pla~d him in the ceiL.. Pedro invaded my personal-space and I became fearful that he would again attempt to engage .m~ in a physical altercation ~nd po.ssibly t)ead biJtt me.. Pedro lost his balance due to his high level of· intoxication and fell backwards, striking his head on the cell bench. I rendered assistance to Pedro and in doing SOi my uniform, hands, and forearms came.into contact with his blood.

Pedro was treated by Hunters Ambulance and Meriden Fire Department personnel. Pedro was transported to Midstate Medical Center via Hunter's Ambulance. 'followed the ambulance and witnessed throug.tJ it's rear window; Hunters personnel struggling with Pedro as he was flailing his arms in an un~ontroll~ble, manner. Pedro continued to physIcally resist Hunter's personnel and they.were forced to .tiehini-down to the stretcher. Approximately. half way through the journey, the ambulance responded lights and sirens to the hospital due to Pedro's physical resistance~

Once at the hospital, Pedro continued to resist hospital security. Security was forced to hold Pedro down while medicafassistance was' rendered:

A suspect resistance form was later completed.· Reference injured on duty case #:10-010035 regarding my exposure to ~otentially infectious bodily fluids. END
