Abstract:-The project is all about controlling theft of a vehicle. The paper includes the hardware part which comprises of GPS,GSM,ATMega328P microcontroller,16*2 LCD and software part is used for interfacing all the required modules and a
web application is also developed at the client side.It is based on Microcontroller board.Global Positioning System (GPS)is
one of the technologies that are used in huge number of applications today which is used for track the position
accurately. The message will be send to the user by using Global System for Mobilecommunication(GSM).These systems
constantly watch a vehicle and report the status on the demand .In our project Infrared(IR)sensor and LM35 sensor which is
interfaced to the microcontroller is used to detect the obstacles, fire warning and accidents. If any fire accidents in vehicle the
sensors used to prevent the accidents .Main objective is to design a system that can be easily installed, less cost and to
provide platform for further enhancement .

1. INTRODUCTION
Vehicle tracking system main aim is to give security
to all vehicles.Accident alert system main aim is to
rescuing people in accidents. This is improved
security system for vehicles. The latest like GPS are
highly useful now a days, this system enables the
owner to observe and track his vehicle and find out
vehicle moment and its past activities of vehicle. This
new technology,popularly called vehicle Tracking
Systems which created many wonders in the security
of the vehicle. This hardware is fitted on to the
vehicle in such a manner that is not visible to anyone
who is inside or outside of the vehicle. Thus it is used
as a convert unit which continuously or by any
interrupt to the system, sends the location data to the
monitoring unit. When the vehicle is stolen the
location data from tracking system can be used to
find the location and can be informed to police
for further action. Some vehicles tracking system
can even detect unauthorized moment of the vehicle
and then alert the owner. This gives an edge over
other pieces of technology for the same purpose. This
accident alert system in it detects the accidents and
the location of the accident occurred and sends GPS
coordinates to the specified mobile,computer,etc.,The
fire detector circuit in it is used to detect fire in the
vehicle,if the temperature inside the vehicle goes
above a certain limit then a warning will be
automatically send to the intendereceiver.The
Infrared sensor which is additionally interfaced to the
microcontroller is used to detect the obstacles and
accidents,in any case if any mishap occurs then its
warning will be directly send to the intented receiver.
By adding additional sensors such as temperature
sensors and infrared sensors the system can enabled
to detect fire, theft and obstacles.
1.1 ATMEGA 328P MICROCONTROLLER
An Atmega 328P in DAMP Package, preloaded
with the aruduino optiboot(Uno 16MHz)
Bootloader. This will allow you to use Aruduino
code in custom embedded project without
having to use an actual aruduino code.To get
this chip working with aruduino IDE, you will
need an external 16MHz Crystol or resonator, A
5 Volt supply and a seril connection.Atmels
ATMega328P8-bit processor in 28pin DIP
Package. Its like the Atmega 168,with double
the flash space.32K of program space.23 I/O
lines,6 of which are channels for the 10-bit ADC.
Runs upto 20MHz with external crystol. Package
can be programmed in circuit.

1.2 GPS
The Global postioning system(GPS) is a U.S. Space
based global navigation satellite system. It provides
reliable postioning, navigation, and time in channels
for the 10-bit ADC. Runs upto 20MHz with external
crystol. Package can be programmed in circuit. g
services to world wide users on a continous basis in
all weather, day and night, anywhere on or nearer the
earth. In our project GPS is used for track the
postioning of the vehicle.

1.3 GSM:
Global System for Mobile Communication(GSM) is
a globally accepted standard for digital cellular
communication.GSM is the name of standardization
group established in 1982 to create a common
European mobile telephone standard that would
formulate specifications for a pan-European mobile
cellular radio system operating at 900Mhz.The
message will be send to the user by using GSM.

1.4 LM 35 sensor The LM35 series are precision integrated-circuit
temperature devices with an output voltage linearly-
proportional to the Centigrade temperature. The LM35
device has an advantage over linear temperature sensors
calibrated in Kelvin, as the user is not required to subtract a
large constant voltage from the output to obtain convenient
Centigrade scaling. The LM35 device does not require any
external calibration or trimming to provide typical
accuracies of C at room temperature and C over a
full 55C to 150C temperature range. Lower cost is
assured by trimming and calibration at the wafer level. The
low-output impedance, linear output, and precise inherent
calibration of the LM35 device makes interfacing to
readout or control circuitry especially easy. The device is
used with single power supplies, or with plus and minus
supplies. As the LM35 device draws only 60 A from the
supply, it has very low self-heating of less than 0.1C in
still air. The LM35 device is rated to operate over a 55C
to 150C temperature range, while the LM35C device is
rated for a 40C to 110C range (10 with improved
accuracy). The LM35-series devices are available packaged
in hermetic TO transistor packages, while the LM35C,
LM35CA, and LM35D devices are available in the plastic
TO-92 transistor package. The LM35D device is available
in an 8-lead surface-mount small-outline package and a
plastic TO-220 package.

1.5 LCD
An HD44780 Character LCD is an industry standard
liquid crystal display (LCD) display device designed for
interfacing with embedded electronics. These screens come
in common configurations of 8x1 characters, 16x2, and
20x4 among others. The largest such configuration is 40x4
characters, but these are rare and are actually two separate
20x4 screens seamlessly joined together. These screens are
often found in copiers, fax machines, laser printers,
industrial test equipment, networking equipment such as
routers and storage devices, etc. These are not the kind of
screens one would find in a cell phone, portable television,
etc. They are limited to text only, with 8 customizable
characters.

2.SOFTWARE REQUIREMENT
2.1Arduino Compiler : The Arduino IDE is a cross-platform application written in
Java, and is derived from the IDE for the Processing
programming language and the Wiring project. It is
designed to introduce programming to artists and other
newcomers unfamiliar with software development. It
includes a code editor with features such as syntax
highlighting, brace matching, and automatic ndentation,
and is also capable of compiling and uploading programs to
the board with a single click. There is typically no need to
edit make files or run programs on a command-line
interface. Although building on command-line is possible if
required with some third-party tools such a Ino.The
Arduino IDE comes with a C/C++ library called "Wiring"
