What is your background?

!   Born in Constance in 1985

! Grown up in Karlsruhe with 2 brothers

!   Lots of studying: 2013 Stuttgart Media University, Germany Master of Arts Candidate in Electronic Media / Corporate Communication 2008 – 2012 Stuttgart Media University, Germany Bachelor of Arts in Media Economics 2006-2008 Goethe University, Frankfurt (Main) Intermediate Diploma in Psychology

Was ist dein Hintergrund?

!   Ich bin in Kingston, süd ost London in 1993 geboren und bin da aufgewachsen

!   Ich ging zur Schule in London und dann, als ich 18 Jahre alt war ging ich nach Universitat um Englisch und Deutsche Literatur zu studieren.

!   Nach ein Jahr habe ich entschieden dass Deutsch nichts fur mich ist, und so studiere ich jetzt nur Englisch

What do you want to find out here? !   I want to find out more about the British culture and

British people – what do they think about Germans?

!   I want to learn more about differences and commonalities between England and Germany

!   I want to get to know my partner - how does she live? How does she think about life? Which thoughts do we share and which not?

Was möchtest du hier herausfinden? !   Ich habe immer gedacht, dass die englische und

deutsche Kultur sehr ahnlich waren. Jedoch glaube ich, dass es Unterschiede geben muss und ich mochte die herausfinden.

!   Auch mochte ich meinen Partner kennen lernen und mehr uber sein Leben lernen.

Have you ever been to Britain?

I travelled to London two times. For me it‘s one of the most impressive cities in Europe and I‘m sure I‘m gonna go there again soon. My personal highlight was a sightseeing tour when I first saw Big Ben and London Eye. When I sat at the top of the bus there was a crazy moment: I could see the Queen arriving at Westminster Abbey. I‘m not very interested in the Royals, but in this moment I was really excited.

Warst du schon mal in Deutschland? !   Ja ich habe oft Deutschland besucht. Ich war in

Hamburg, Berlin, Aschaffenburg (in die Nahe von Frankfurt), Munchen und Regensburg. Auch werde ich bald Essen und wieder Munchen besuchen.

!   Das ist weil ich habe Deutsch gelernt an der Uni und so habe ich viele Freunde die ein Jahr im Ausland sind – naturlich muss ich sie besuchen!

What does British mean to you? ! Correct spoken English

Was bedeutet Deutsch für dich? !   Deutschland hat fur mich viele positive Konnotationen. Zum

Beispiel gutes Essen im Urlaub wie Wurst und Bier, sehr freundliche Leute, und immer denke ich an den Film ‚Goodbye Lenin‘. Ich erwarte immer, dass Deutschland (und besonders Berlin) genauso wie der Film ist.

!   Auch gibt es naturlich die traditionellen Erwartungen wie Punktlichkeit aber die sind fur mich nicht so wichtig

Was sind deine Hoffnungen und Ängste? !   Ich hoffe dass ich eine gute Beruf die ich geniessen

kann kriegen werde, und dass ich nicht mit meine Eltern fur vielen Jahren wohnen muss.

!   Ich furchte dass ich eine langweilige Beruf arbeiten werde. Ich denke dass meinen Eltern arbeiten fur Geld, und sie sind nicht glucklich. Ich mochte fur Gluck arbeiten
