DESKTOP• Apple Menu- Access software updates, system preferences, sleep, shut down, and recent items

• Application Menu- Contains menus for the current application.

• Status Menu- Shows the status of your computer or gives quick access to certain features

• Spotlight- Search field for entire computer

• Desktop- Workspace

• Dock- Displays shortcuts to applications

PERSONALIZE• Take a few minutes to personalize your machine

• Click on Apple Menu --> Dock --> Dock Preferences

FINDER• Close, Minimize, Zoom - They close, minimize and zoom.

• Sidebar- Contains breakdown and access of your HDD, and primary folders. Contains a way to look at all documents, music, movies, videos, photos. Flash drives and CD’s get displayed here too.

• View- Changes the way the finder displays the contents of the folders.

• Action Menu- Info, trash, label, duplicate

• Search- Searches computer

• Before you go any further, go to: Finder--> xserve01--> Final Work-->2014-2015-->Leonard--> A Thousand Roads

• Copy the Folder A Thousand Roads to your documents folder.

PERSONALIZE• Using the finder, drag applications to your dock

• Click on Apple Menu -->System Preferences

Here you can change your user name and password, and add startup icons.

SPACES AND EXPOSE`Spaces allows you to emulate additional desktop space. This allows you to be better organized when having multiple applications open.

EXPOSE`

• Expose allows you designate “hot corners” as shortcuts for functions delegated to the keyboard.

PERSONALIZE• Take a few minutes to personalize your machine

• Create any spaces you like and practice using them

• Use expose’ to utilize hot corners, or turn them off.

SHORTCUT KEYS

• Shortcut keys are a way to map functions to keyboard button combinations as a means to increase productivity, and have quick access to actions that are frequently used.

• Shortcut keys can make your FPC experience substancially better.

• Find a movie trailer that categorizes under your chosen genre. Explain what aspects of the trailer aid your description and write an additional paragraph.
