Why is CBD good for you?CBD has been shown to support the proper functioning of the Endocannabinoid System. The role of the Endocannabinoid System is to protect and modulate the nervous system and the immune system. You can think of it as pushing the reset button on both the nervous system and the immune system. It pulls these systems out of abnormal patterns and stress responses. CBD supports the natural system that was meant to act as a check and reset.
What is the endocannabiniod system?The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is one of science’s newest and most exciting discoveries. The ECS regulates relaxation, eating, sleeping, certain inflammation responses and even cognitive function. There are two types of cannabinoid receptors found throughout the body (CB1 and CB2), but they are most abundant in the brain and immune system respectively. In a nutshell, your ECS is responsible for making sure your entire body is working optimally—no small task!
CBD,CBN and THC fit like a lock and key into existing human receptors. These receptors are part of the endocannabinoid system which impact physiological processes affecting pain modulation, memory and appetite plus anti-inflammatory effects and other immune system responses. What is full spectrum CBD?Full spectrum refers to all the cannabinoids naturally found mostly in hemp and other herbs. There have been over eighty different cannabinoids isolated and identified. The ‘take away point’ is that CBD has shown to be much more effective in the presence of all the naturally occurring cannabinoids. This is an important point because CBD has gained a lot of notoriety and some people mistakenly think the CBD isolate is what we are is referring to, but in actuality it is the ‘full spectrum, CBD rich hemp extract’ that we sell and recommend.

Even though all animals, including humans, are able to internally create small amounts of cannabinoids, there are few places in nature where they can be found in abundance. Why do you extract CBD using CO2?CO2 extraction is a high pressure method of disrupting the cell walls of the plant material and extracting the rich material contained within, which is rich in cannabinoids. This method of extraction is the cleanest way to extract the cannabinoids from hemp. There are other methods of extraction, Rick Simpson Oil, being one method. But all the other methods use solvents which have varying degrees of toxicity and can leave residuals in the final product. We are looking to create the cleanest product possible and CO2 extraction is the way to start.
Hemp vs MarijuannaHemp is the heirloom variety of cannabis. It is the unadulterated strain of cannabis sativa. The cannabinoid and phytonutrients makeup are in the amounts and ratios that naturally occur in industrial hemp. It is high in CBD and low in THC. What is commonly referred to as ‘Marijuana’ are strains of cannabis sativa that are high in THC and low in CBD. Both are varieties of the cannabis sativa plant. It is selective breeding and growing conditions that differentiate these two very different plants.

The cannabinoids from hemp have long been in the food chain in most cultures around the world. It was traditionally used as animal fodder. The benefit of feeding to the animals that were then consumed by humans was that the cannabinoids were passed on through the food chain.
Why do we use Monk Fruit in IrieCBD?Monk fruit is a sweet fruit that has been used for centuries for its healing ability. It is also known as “Luo Han Guo” and it dates back to the 13th century monks living in the steep mountain region of Southern China.
The fruit was named after advanced Buddhist practitioners, called “Luohan”. It is also known as the longevity fruit; many of the population live to be over a hundred in this region of China.
