The story of Prophet Ibrahim and

Prophet Ismail that is a story

which is told in the holy Quran.

ISLAMIC STORY

Ishmael was the son of Ibrahim's

wife with his young wife. Hajar is a

slave given by the King of Egypt to

Ibrahim a.s. As the agreement of

Siti Sarah Ibrahim would married

Siti Hajar. After her marriage with

Prophet Ibrahim, finally Hajar being

pregnant. However, she hides her

womb from Siti Sarah who have

married long time. But haven’t give

a child. Siti Hajar hide no matter

how hard it implies, finally the

secret is revealed. from the womb

of Siti Hajar was born a boy who

later named Ismail.

ISLAMIC STORY

After the birth of Ishmael, God

Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala commanded

Ibrahim carry away Hajar and Ishmael

to Mecca, the Prophet Ibrahim fulfill

orders and he went to Mecca brought

them near a place where the Ka’bah

will be build. At the time it was still

empty desert that has not been

inhabited by humans.

ISLAMIC STORY

Siti Hajar so anxious and sad

when Prophet Ibrahim would

leave her alone with small

children, in a place so desolate,

no one at all, but only sand and

stones. While moaning and

crying, she firmly holding the

clothes of Prophet Ibrahim

begging his mercy, asking that

she not be left alone in empty

place, no human being at all, no

animals, no trees and running

water was also does not look at

that place. Temporarily, she

have responsible to take care

of small children whom still

breastfeeding her.

Then on the orders of Allah

Prophet Ibrahim a.s. returned to the

Syam country on his first wife Siti

Sarah.

Ibrahim continued his journey

and arrive at a hill. Ibrahim can not

see her again, Ibrahim facing

towards the Ka’bah and pray for his

wife and son by lifting both hands.

Siti Hajar directly give suck to Ismail

and Hajar drinking water supplies they

brought. At the moment Hajar ran out

of water, she was very thirsty so her

milk dry matter. she looked at the baby

Ishmael who was thrashed thirst. In his

quest for water, Hajar ran to and fro to

the Hill of Safa and Marwah.

She is hoping to get something that

could help her, however just rocks and

sand that she met there, and from the hill

safa she saw the shadow of the water

flowing over the marwah hill, then she

ran into marwah hill, but once it gets

there she thinks the water was only a

shadow. Then she heard a voice calling

from the hills of Safa, she went to the hill

of Safa, but she don’t met anyone.

ISLAMIC STORY

Siti Hajar continued to hear the sound

that leads to the place where the baby

lying on a state, Ismail was crying and

thrashing and stamping his feet.

Suddenly, near Ismail lie, there were

flowing spring. By Seeing the wellspring,

suddenly Siti Hajar scampered to

accommodate the water. Celebrate the

abundant water she call it '' Zam Zam ''

with meaning '' Catch up ''.

ISLAMIC STORY

See abundant water Siti Hajar was very

excited. Her son immediately moistened

her lips with water. Instantly son's face

looks very fresh. Similarly, Siti Hajar. Her

face was shining again, she was happy,

because Allah has given the miracle, once

in the shadowed by death.

The water turn into a lake, and until this

day is called by Telaga Zam-Zam.

Enterprises Hajar for water is not in vain,

she to and fro in order to get the water

until it reached the Safa hill and Marwah.

Until now walking distance from Safa to

Marwa made as one of the Five Pillars of

Hajj which it call Sha'i.

When Ismail was a

teenager, the Prophet

Ibrahim was very happy,

but the joy was suddenly

shattered because of the

commandment of Allah

through his dreams.

Prophet Ibrahim had a

dream that he should

slaughter his son, the

Prophet Ismail. Initially

Ibrahim very sad accept

the dream.

However, the dream of

Prophet is one of the ways God

send down revelation to the

Prophet, so his orders is a

dream that must be

implemented by the Prophet

Ibrahim. Knowing that

command, Ibrahim sat and

pondered a test from God that

is so heavy. As a father who has

just blessed with a son after

decades of coveted, suddenly

should be sacrificial and must

be taken by the hands of his

own father.

With a heavy heart Ibrahim

expressed his dream to the son.

Hearing the words of Ibrahim about

his dream, Prophet Ishmael said

without the slightest hesitation do

what is commanded by Allah SWT.

When the terrible slaughter

has arrived. Anchored both

hands and feet of the Prophet

Ishmael, laid it on the floor, and

he brought a sharp machete

that is already available and

holding a machete in his hand,

eyes Prophet ibrahim as still

toward his son's face, at that

time he will be a fight between

the feelings of a father on one

side and the obligation of an

apostle on the other hand.

In the end, with closed eyes,

Ibrahim laid the machete on the neck

of Prophet Ishmael and slaughter

carry out. Suddenly, the angel Jibril

lifted Prophet Ishmael and replaced

by a goat, a very large and meaty.

ISLAMIC STORY

The story of Prophet Ishmael and

Ibrahim is then used by Muslims as

incident that commemorates each year

with the recommendation slaughter an

animal sacrifice and known as Eid al-

Adha.
