DESCRIPTION

This project may not be obviously related with fashion garments, but it interprets fashion in a artistic way rather than presents wearable clothes or accessories. I give a lot of consideration when selecting photographers and arranging them in some logic.

About

Avec Chic, originated in French, means in an elegant manner. I started Avec Chic because of a need to share my dreams, my goals and my stories. I am Chinese born and raised, but 3 years ago, an opportunity came for me to study in England where this whole adventure started.

Days in England have been incredible and I feel very happy and honored to share with you some of my experiences which still inspire me throughout the time.

Finishing my Fashion Management courses in UK, I worked as a fashion buyer; then, a fashion editor.

Now, I ’m a part-t ime BLOGGER and a ful l-t ime DREAMER.

Editor's Letter

Photography is an important area o f fash ion. Fash ion photography is often considered detachment of just glamorous clothing, but an art form.

Those photographers, included in this issue, live in different places and times, with their own unique signatures. However, I do find there’s something in common. Therefore, in this issue, I decided to select some of thei r photography, which are dreamy, vague, and with a touch of romanticism.

Clifford CoffinAlex Freund

Paulo Roversi

An American photographer, who is considered by many who knew him as the greatest of Vogue’s photographers - an artist far ahead of his time.

A photographer and creative director based in New York. Alex's photography is marked b y a s e a m l e s s m i x o f a naturalistic gestural sensibility within unnatural scenarios to which he brings a cinematic sense of visual narrative.

A photographer best known for his striking, intimate portraiture and classical visual language. His photographs occupy a realm between the past and present, resulting in imagery that feels at once progressive and familiar.

William Klein

An American-born French photographer and filmmaker noted for his ironic approach to

both media and his extensive use of unusual photographic techniques in the context of photojournalism and fashion photography. He was ranked 25th on Professional Photographer's list of 100 most

influential photographers.

Sarah Moon

Valentino S/S 13 Campaign

Her photos show some dreamy atmospheres, but during her career, Sarah Moon has turned from being a model to being a filmmaker.

“Each photography is the last witness, or even the last evidence of a moment that would otherwise be lost forever; it is the sense of loss, and of time passing by …”; with an intimate and melancholic nuance,

Sarah Moon (her real name is Marielle Hadengue) talks about photography and of the almost cathartic role that the photographic lens represents for her. The big subject of her work, and of this famous extract we quoted, is the time that the artist tries to stop, to win over and to tell, as if it was the antagonist (or the protagonist?) of her photography.
