Procedures are important in society so that people can function in
an acceptable and organized manner. Think about it.. Getting ready
for school Setting the table for dinner Checking out a library book
Getting ready for bed Club or sports procedures Slide 16 1. Come in
quietly. 2. Take out the items you need for the day, and hang up
your backpack on your hook. Binder Snack Homework AR book Any notes
or additional information for me 3. Use the restroom. Wash your
hands. 4. Sharpen 2-3 pencils. 5. Write down your agenda notes in
your planner. 6. Begin your morning work/flashback. Slide 17
Straighten up your area. Return any borrowed supplies. Gather all
of your belongings. Push in your chair. Line up at Mrs. Currys door
on a number. Wait to open the door, until I dismiss you. Walk into
Mrs. Currys room quietly and go to your assigned seat. Slide 18
Line up on a number. Hands are down at your side. Eyes are forward.
Noise level is silence. Slide 19 Turn in any absent notes to me.
Check with a classmate to get any agenda notes from your missed
days. Check the absent folder for any missed work. Any completed
absent work needs to be turned in to the correct bin on my desk.
Missed assessments will be made up during recess/lunch time. It is
important to be at school everyday! Slide 20 You do not have to ask
to use the restroom. You are allowed to use the restroom anytime,
unless I am teaching or if there is an assessment. If I am
teaching, and it is an EMERGENCY (meaning you are unable to wait)
then you may go. Restroom breaks will be limited during
assessments. Go before we start. If you miss important information
while you are in the restroom, it is your responsibility to catch-
up. This procedure may be different in other classes. Slide 21
Restroom monitor walks in first. Students line up quietly outside
the entrance doors and waits for the monitor to count off. Monitor
then stays inside the restroom, monitors behavior, and politely
reminds students to wash their hands. When one student walks out,
another student is allowed to walk in. Noise levels are at a
whisper level. Slide 22 WALK in a single file line. First half of
the class, go to the first entrance. Second half of the class, go
to the second entrance. If you brought your lunch, go to your
assigned table. While in line, make sure your feet are on the
correct mark. Get ALL needed items while going through the line.
Noise level: talking quietly Slide 23 Select a journal you have
never written in. Begin reading previous entries. When directed,
write your first/last name and entry number in the Table of
Contents. Locate the next available blank page. Do not skip back
pages. Write the date at the top and entry number in the bottom
right corner. Use no names, draw no pictures, and use appropriate
language. Report any inappropriate writing. Write until time is up.
Slide 24 Once a month, students will apply for class jobs. All
students will have a job. Just like in the real word, you will

Leader Slide 26 Homework is due every Friday. On Friday mornings,
place it in the correct bin on my desk. Students who complete
homework will place a star on the Homework Chart. If homework is
not turned in, student will not participate in Sharpen the Saw

FridayTurn in your reading reflection sheet. **Spelling test. *Make
sure to read what type of books you should be reading for the week,
for example, nonfiction, fiction, free-choice. ** Any student who
scores a 100% on his pretest does not have to take the assessment
on Friday. Slide 28 The bell does not dismiss you. I do. Mrs.
Veronica says the bus numbers over the intercom. Noise level is
silent during this time. The bus number recorder writes the numbers
on the board. I will call them out. This is when you are expected
to line up at the door if your bus was called. Stop at the door
