readily available power. High investments

into the generation, transmission and

distribution systems have been made by the

utilities over the years to guarantee this

supply. It is the task of the control center

operators to make best and most efficient

use of the installed system. SCADA/DMS

is the tool that helps the operators to keep

the overview over the large networks and to

control the energy related processes

optimally.

PSI Incontrol Sdn. Bhd. is an established

and fast growing organization backed by

dedicated, qualified and richly experienced

team of engineers, technicians and skilled

workforce. We have full in-house capability

of complete engineering, implementation,

testing and commissioning of large scale

SCADA/DMS.

Our solution redefines redundancy

requirements by eliminating ‘Hot/Standby’

philosophies with every server capable of

taking over the entire functions in the

control centre.

Multiplicity of Protocols have been

integrated for the signals from the field.

IEC 870-5-101, WISP+, Harris H6000,

IEC870-5-104 are some of the protocols

implemented in the delivered SCADA/

DMS. Besides, TASE.2 protocol also

implemented for inter-control center

communication.

PSIcontrol was developed for an extensive

productivity increase in strategic network

operation. The solution enables a small

team operator to efficiently manage very

large networks with high-density grid

infrastructures. Stability and reliability are

maintained, even with extreme influxes of

information.

The unique system technology in

PSIcontrol creates the platform for the

optimum control system as well as the

control system being accepted by network-

operation staff. The distinguishing

characteristics within the applications are

based on exceptional network capabilities

and the use of communication technology

standards.

The control system is made up of

conventional centrally-organized master-

slave systems are no longer an issue with

From here, data models are generated for

the programs managing the system. A

considerable reduction in costs is achieved

and GIS are comprehensively imported into

the control system. For import-orientated

data management, PSIcontrol has special

As the size of a network grows, so does the

importance of regular realistic training for

network managing personnel.

Simulators developed by PSI offer training

on any fault scenario for transmission and

distribution networks. The simulators

utilize network specification data from the

associated control system operators train

with their ‘own’ workstation.

At the core of PSIcontrol are the network

application programs with exceptionally

short and quick computation times. These

are also useful for the realistic modeling of

network protection equipment. The

simulator models the operation of

protection equipment and the location of

short circuits at random locations of the

network. The possible specification of

random primary or secondary equipment

faults shows the operation of the back up

protection in the event of a fault.

By modeling all important protective relay

types, the simulator makes it possible to

verify safety concept settings. For safety

experts this can be very effective tool.

PSI developed telecontrol solutions in-

house. With our in-house telecontrol

technology, we can use modern and

substantially more efficient technologies for

our hardware solutions.

PSI’s family of high-quality telecontrol

devices offers optimum solutions for a wide

range of equipments. With the components

effective interfaces can be configures for

The human-machine interface (HMI) allows

the operator to utilize all aspects of a

PSIcontrol network control system.

Whether a control system is accepted by the

network operators greatly depends on the

quality and operability of the human-

machine interface. In addition to our

advanced intuitive features, the PSI HMI

has an incredibly fast response time.

PSI decided in 1985 to develop the entire

HMI software in-house. This decision was

the foundation for many of our

innovations. To date, PSI has invested

more than 130 years of manpower into

creating our HMI. Our HMI technology is

one of the supporting pillars of PSIcontrol.

Operations management uses fault analysis

to rapidly and safely re-supply healthy but

de-energized network areas. The system

determines the required network

disconnections and automatically creates a

switching sequence for resupplying the

network. In ground fault areas, the fault

analysis automatically determines the

optimum order of needed switching

sequences to find and contain a ground

fault. The necessary switching commands

can then be sent automatically.
