Commitment to the program/teamCommunication:

We do not discuss playing time/strategyAny concerns must first be addressed by the player.

Athletes do not control playing time• They control effort, attitude and what kind

of teammate they are. We ask that parents not contact opposing schools directly with any concerns. Please contact us first.

Assumption Of Risk

• There is inherent risk of injury in all sports• Not all injuries can be prevented• Even catastrophic injuries can occur in

any sport• A comprehensive Athletic Training health

care program has proven to influence a reduction in the severity of injury and prevalence of re-injury.

The Booster Club is run by a Board of Directors, who work closely with the Director of Student Activities and his staff. We supplement the school’s efforts to purchase equipment for all our students to use . Our financial contribution is directly related to the amount of participation we receive from you.

The budget received from Fairfax County Public Schools only covers coaches’ salaries, athlete’s transportation and the officials at each event. All other funds are raised by us; the parents and students of Robinson.

Page 23: JAMES W. ROBINSON SECONDARY SCHOOL PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT WINTER 2015-16

Fundraising takes place year round in a variety of ways. The amount we raise directly impacts the equipment and facilities available to your child as a student athlete.

As you see, the list goes on and on. Approximately 1,200 athletes use the equipment and facilities each year, so through normal wear and tear, these need to be replaced or upgraded.

In addition to maintaining our annual current level of commitment, the Athletic Boosters have embarked on a long term plan which will improve the facilities of Robinson Secondary. Many of these upgrades will provide additional opportunities to raise funds for our students, athletes and community use groups.
