    Kloker hired as new Region

    6 Information & EducationProgram Manager for FWP

    Marc Kloker has beenappointed as the Region 6inormation and educationprogram manager or Montana oFish, Wildlie & Parks. He will bebased out o Glasgow, and replacesRon Selden, who passed awayunexpectedly in August.

    Kloker, 37, a longtime ValleyCounty resident, comes to FWProm the Montana Departmento Natural Resources andConservation, where he worked asa land use specialist in Glasgow. He graduated rom NashuaHigh School and obtained collegedegrees in Wildlie Biology romthe University o Montana andSecondary Science Educationrom Dickinson State University.For 10 years, Kloker taught scienceeducation in both Nashua andCulbertson. During the summershe was a wild land firefighter andrange technician with the U.S.Fish and Wildlie Service at CMRin Fort Peck.

    education program manager, Kloker will be involvedin several areas o public outreach and inormationincluding news release distributions, social mediaupdates, setting up public meetings, and administeringthe Citizens Advisory Council meetings or Region 6.

    Im looking orward to having the opportunity to

    reach out to the public about all the great things that aretaking place here, Kloker said. We have hardworkingwardens, biologists, technicians, office staff andvolunteers that help make Region 6 one o the best areain the state or outdoor recreation. Kloker will also be involved in youth and aduleducation and is the Region 6 contact or the Hunterand Bowhunter Education programs. He is also volunteer instructor.

    Kloker will be engaged with other educationaoutreach, including working with teachers, helping

    present kids fishing classes and events, and developingprograms or area kids and adults such as bird watchingbat netting, and insect collections. Im particularly excited about the educationaaspects o the job, Kloker said. Coming rom aneducation background, Im eager to use my teachingskills to share my love and respect or hunting, fishingnongame wildlie, and all other types o recreation wehave in this region, which I hope can lead to developingpositive relationships with the states fish, wildlie andparks now and into the uture.

Te average high or the monthwas 30.1 degrees with an average low o 6.6 degrees. Te high temperature reached 40 degrees or warmeron five days, the warmest being on the 12th when the highreached 46 degrees. Only five days had low temperatureso zero or colder. Te coldest day was the 1st with a low o13 below.

    Only one record was set during the month. It occurredon the 11th when the low o 33 degrees tied a record warmminimum or that date. Just 0.11 inch o moisture ell in Glasgow duringDecember which was 0.29 inch below normal. Te monthwas tied or the 18th driest December on record. Measurableprecipitation ell on only three days during the month. Temost ell on the 21st with a measurement o 0.06 inch. Only 0.2 inch o snow ell during the month, makingit the 8th lowest total snowall in December on record.It was the least amount ff snow in December since 1997.
