PROGRAM OVERVIEWFrom individual instruction to composing in the music lab to ensembleplaying, participants in Jazz Camp will experience the fun and sat-isfaction of making music and improving their instrumental skills.The program includes general instruction in the understandingof jazz, individual lessons under the instruction of the talentedLa Salle College High School music faculty, and ensemble playingeach day. All students will work in the digital music lab and maychoose additional instruction in composing, arranging, and listeningskills. The recreation and lunch facilities of the La Salle Dining Hallare available to participants in the program.

THE SCHOOLSince 1858, La Salle has offered young men the opportunity tofi nd their futures within strong spiritual, academic, service, andextra-curricular programs and a focus on preparation for college.Consistently ranked as among the best of the Delaware Valleyindependent schools in programs and facilities, La Salle recentlyexpanded through the opening of a new music and athletic ad-dition in January of 2002 which includes both performing spaceand a digital music lab. THE DEPARTMENTMore than 300 students currently study instrumental and choralmusic in La Salle’s Music Department. The Department, noted forlocal and regional success, offers both beginners and advancedstudents the opportunity to excel in a challenging and sophisti-cated program of performance. From the string ensemble to thelab and advanced competition bands to the Belcrofters ChoralGroup, La Salle music-makers perform with distinction throughoutthe Delaware Valley.
