  • Old Current Events During His Time As POTUSWhile he was president, Jimmy Carter signed the SALT II (Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty) with the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic, only to shelf it before its ratification due to the USSRs assault on AfghanistanThe Islamic Revolution of 1997 also called upon President Carters attention. Racial Iranian students took 53 US citizens in the US Embassy building of Iran hostage for 444 days.
