It is important as a leader to • Be Consistent. • Be Clear. • Be Courteous.





Good leaders want communication that is direct. The other thing they want is

honesty.





When communicating among teammates, it is important to • Be Supportive. • Stay Current. • Be Vulnerable.





When communicating outside the team, it is important to be • Receptive – Be calm and graceful. • Responsive – Time is of the essence. • Realistic – Set and receive real expectations. When communicating with people not on the team, the most important thing is unity.




COLLABORATION Cooperation is working together agreeably. Collaboration is working together aggressively. Becoming a collaborative team player requires a change in four areas:

1. Perception

3. Focus

4. Results

1 Right People. Right Places. Having the right people in the right places is essential to team building.

Great Vision. Great vision precedes great achievement. 2

Good Attitude. Good attitudes among players do not guarantee a team’s success, but bad attitudes guarantee its failure.

Game Plan. The game plan tells what you want to happen. But the scoreboard tells what is happening.

Know the Score. The scoreboard provides a snapshot of the game at any given time.

How does an effective team work together?

6 Consistent Communication. Communication increases commitment and connection; they in turn fuel action.

Team Countability. Teammates must be able to count on each other when it really counts.

Recognition. Help the people on your team develop morale and momentum to create a winning team.

Adjustments. The higher the level on which you and your team are competing the smaller the adjustments become to achieve your best.
