Jonathan is one of CESG’s Technical Directors, with a particular focus on assurance – ensuring the products, systems and services we use to protect information can actually be relied on. Since joining CESG in 2003, Jonathan has worked on a wide variety of cyber security and information assurance problems, looking at the challenges and opportunities of commodity technology. In recent years, Jonathan has led the technical push to greatly expand the range of security guidance available to the UK Public Sector on mobile devices, and to enable the risk management of innovative security solutions. In his current role, Jonathan works closely with industry partners and UK Public Sector organisations to help ensure that the security solutions being used in the UK are able to protect the information we care about. Prior to joining Restoration Partners Mike spent a decade in the venture capital industry with 3i plc, YFM Group, Electra and Acuity Capital. Mike has significant C-level advisory experience with active board participation in young technology business throughout their life cycle and he is experienced in the challenges of restructuring and turnaround. Mike spent the first decade of his career in the consumer sector with Unilever and Marks and Spencer, gaining extensive software, technology project and operation management experience in systems development and implementation including the global roll-out of SAP.

In January 2016, Brad Pietras became the Director of Technology for the VTC Group based in London, UK. The VTC Group enables multi-national companies to integrate technology from universities, entrepreneurs, and established companies into their products for business growth and market access in cyber security, satellite applications, and data analytics. From 2007 to 2010, Mr. Pietras led the corporate Nanotechnology Initiative that resulted in the creation of Applied Nanostructured Solutions, LLC and the introduction of advanced carbon nanotube-based materials in multiple Lockheed Martin products including the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and the Juno spacecraft currently in route to Jupiter. Mr. Pietras also shares the patent for composites comprising of carbon nanotubes on fiber (US Patent 20110024694 A1) Mr. Pietras holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Physics from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a Master's of Science degree in Neuroscience from the College of Engineering at Syracuse University. Mr. Pietras has been a visiting scientist at the National Institutes of Health in the United States and is a visiting researcher at University College London in the UK. He is presently a Ph.D. candidate in Neuroscience at the University of Maryland’s School of Medicine in Baltimore and his research, in collaboration with the Gatsby Computational Neuroscience Unit at University College London, pertains to the mathematical and neural foundations of decision-making and reinforcement learning.

As a founder and Chief Technology Officer at Digital Shadows, James co-ordinates the technology and intelligence direction at the company.

Since founding the firm in 2011 with Alastair, James has been fascinated by digital footprints and how these influence the security and risk positions of businesses. Over the years he has been involved with a range of initiatives in the financial sector and technology communities to better understand online risk exposure, threat intelligence, data leakage, the impact of the explosion of online technologies (a.k.a Internet of Things (IoT) TM, threat led-security testing.

James has over fifteen years experience of technical information security acting as an advisor to large private sector and government organisations. Much of his work has involved counteracting the growth of crime and fraud in computer networks and developing effective ways of measuring and managing the information security big picture.
