JEREMY HARDYFRIDAY 16 OCTOBER 8pm | Great Hall

Jeremy Hardy begins his fourth decade as a stand-up this year. That’s a more dramatic way of saying he started 31 years ago and, without a lottery win, probably has at least another 31 years to go.

Last year, the tenth series of Jeremy Hardy Speaks to the Nation was broadcast on Radio 4. He is also well known for his appearances on The News Quiz and I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue. Indeed, Alan Bennett

recently said he likes him “but he’s only on the radio”.

However, Jeremy isn’t only on the radio. He is on the road all year round and has never stopped doing live shows since 1984. After briefly hibernating in the

winter, he's back out on the road in 2015.TICKETS: £14 £5 jobseekers/unwaged**subject to availability, proof of status required at time of booking, not available online

Blackheath Halls is a Grade II listed building. It opened its doors as a concert hall in 1895. Since then it has presented a diverse programme of concerts, featuring some of the world’s leading artists, as well as comedy nights, talks, exhibitions, and specific events for children and young people, and a varied community engagement programme.

Help us to maintain and improve Blackheath HallsWe are keen to ensure that the Halls remains a vibrant centre for the arts for future generations. During the last three years the generosity of our supporters has enabled us to install a lift to the first floor, refurbish the Recital Room, improve the outside of our building and repair our car park. As a result of the generous support of the Friends of Blackheath Halls, we have recently installed fans in the Great Hall, and as the first stage in the Halls new Capital Plan the Friends are also supporting a complete refurbishment and redecoration of the Café Bar and Foyer.

We have ambitious plans for the further

Why Blackheath Halls deserves your support…development of the Halls’ facilities and services, both backstage and within the auditorium. Our planned programme of essential works will help us to realise our vision of making the Halls into a customer focussed, flexible, performing arts centre, which is environmentally sustainable, and in which artists can create, explore and perform their work.

Support Blackheath Sundays recitalsOur Blackheath Sundays recitals bring some of the country’s leading classical artists, as well as many emerging ensembles and soloists to perform in Blackheath Halls’ beautiful Recital Room. This is only made possible by the generous support of individual donors and sponsors. We hope you will consider making a donation to the series or sponsor an individual recital on your own or as part of a group.

Support our Community Engagement Programme Each year we offer people of all ages and all levels of ability the opportunity to work with first class professional performers and creative teams, to learn new skills and to perform in ensemble productions in our historic building in front of large audiences.

Remember Blackheath Halls in your willIf you would like future generations to experience the joy of coming to events at Blackheath Halls or to perform in our wonderful building, please consider leaving a legacy to us. There are tax incentives for leaving a legacy to a registered charity.

Thank youWe are most grateful to the many people who so generously support Blackheath Halls in so many ways. if you are a UK taxpayer, we are able to claim 25% Gift Aid on top of your donation. For further details on  how to support Blackheath Halls, please contact the Halls’ General Manager  Keith Murray on 020 8318 9758 or at  [email protected]

Friends of Blackheath Halls is a great village network. We exist to support the halls, raising funds, providing audiences and putting on our own cultural events.

The Friends programme includes regular lunchtime concerts, exciting architectural visits and spoken word evenings with well-known authors and occasional special events, such as our New Year’s Party.

I hope you will consider making a commitment to the Halls by picking up a Friends brochure at the Halls or by emailing [email protected]
