Dear Adventurer, Pathfinder, Captain of the
seven seas, Globetrotter and migrating birds,
dear mankind!
I guess everybody knows Jules Vernes. Probably youheard about the adventures of Phileas Fogg areyou with me? If Journizer had already been releasedat that time Mister Fogg would probably have told hisservant Passpartout to write about their journey inJournizer. And at that time the invention of theautomobile was approaching by Carl Benz in a Citycalled Mannheim in Germany. When the novel was
released in 1873 it was almost unbelievable thatsomeone could go around the world in 80 days. Thewriter Jules Verne is known for his fiction stories.Nowadays its no longer a fiction anymore to travelquickly around the world thanks to our currenttraveling technologies. There are vehicles out therewho get us quickly and safely from oneplace to another. Lets find out how long ittakes for different vehicles to go oncearound the world, along the Equator, which is 40.075 km.Well it might be not very realistic butnevertheless an interesting question!

You wrote a book about your journey?
What was your motivation?
Patrick: Originally I wanted to write a book about
eatable weeds. I started it when I was about twelve.
But after a while i came to the conclusion that I'm
not really into this topic anymore and instead I wrote
a book about my journey. Anyway I have a brain like
a swiss cheese, I keep forgetting everything. With
the book I can read in 20 years where it is that I
have traveled. And if I even forget where Ive put the
book I can at least go to the library and get it there!
What is you favorite place?
afsfgsdfdsf
Patrick: Difficult question. There is so much to see
around the world. But honestly, the best place for
me is this little country between the Black Forest
and the Lake of Constance, because after a long
journey, home is the best place to be.
I really like it in Mongolia. A country without fences,
the land belongs to everybody. People live the way
they did for thousands of years, travel around as
nomads with their animals. Life is hard but the
people love it, their faces show dignity and confi-
dence, like I haven't seen in any other p lace around
the world.
Imagine you were a kitchen item.
To whom would we talk to?
Patrick: Who did come up with that weird question?
Was that our apprenticeship monkey?
Thanks for the interview.

Siberia, Karakorum, Vladivostok,
Atacama Desert, fire landscape. . .
Do you get goose bumps when you
hear the names of these distant
places?
Take part in an adventurous trip to
the edge of the world! With a wink
the writer tells us about all the big-
ger and smaller events of his unusual trip. Within 14
months he traveled thousands of kilometers by motor-
bike, ship, bus, train or plain. Have a seat in the Russian
Banja, the Mongolian Jurte or at a camp-fire in thedeserted Pampa. Drive along through the freezing cold
deserts, over dizzy passes, through swamps and end-
less forests and experience the most southern city, the
driest desert and the lake on the lowest point below
sea level.
However, much more important than this is the journey
to the people. The selflessness and enthusiasm that
they carry towards the traveler make this journey an
unforgettable event. (only avaliable in german)

1) To develop the innovative Journizer product we use the mostadvanced programming methods. The Journizer quality develop-ment is done by Programmer Monkeys from the Caucus mountains. They have this amazingly remarkable quantum specific thinkingpatterns, this makes them ideal for interstellar programming tasks.More about that coming up soon on the third issue.
2) Barbecuing the Argentinian way. When really hungry they barbe-cue whole cows including the fur.
T H E I N T E R V I E W
Hi Patrick, is that really you? Three
Adjectives who describe you:
Patrick: swabian, liberal, full of wanderlust
What is your job in th Journizer Team?
Patrick: I am the personal assistant of Kurt, our
programmer monkey1). On Saturdays I have to buy
about 400 kg of bananas to make sure that he pro-
grams something decent.
What country's have you traveled to?
Patrick: I have already seen a bit but there is so
much to see out there ;)
Aye... maybe some more detai ls?
Patrick: Hmmm... well, I have seen most of Europe,
then Morocco, Russia, Mongolia, China, India, Thai-
land, Canada, USA and in South America Chile, Argen-
tina and Uruguay. Thats about it. I'd like to find out
what Africa is like.
Thats quite a lot, going by motorbike is
your way of traveling?
Patrick: I guess thats true, riding a bike is for me
the best way of traveling. You are independent of
public transport and you see the countryside instead
of train stations. But there is no tin can around you
ON THE WAY ON TWO WHEELS
that shields you like in a car. The bike is an excel-
lent starting point for contact. People all over the
world like motorbikes. Through Emma, my bike, I
met nice and interesting people. If you stop at a gas
station, it might be in Siberia or in the Argentinian
Pampa, it only takes a few minutes until the first
curious dude shows up and and starts to ask ques-
tions. Often this is ends with an invitation to a little
Vodka (in Siberia) or a delicious Asado2) (in Argen-
tina). No light without a shadow, bikes have broken gear-
boxes, blown tires or starters who refuse to do their
job. But nonetheless this is nothing compared to the
incredible places that a bike can get you. Be it the
lonely camp spot at the foot of a glooming volcano,
the endless turns of the Carrertera Austral with their
gorgeous views on the Andean mountain tops, or
the endless white plains of a salt lake.
And, now that I think of it, riding a motorbike is
even bit of fun in itself ;)

The luck of this earth lies on the back of a horse!"
(a german saying). Whether someone shares thislove for these quadruped from the species ofsolid-hoofed animals or not, is decided, I believe,by a key experience in everyones childhood: Thetrip to the pony riding club! Finally everyone fell
down from one of these hairy beasts. Somemount again right away the others forgo horsesfrom then on. I am one of those to get up again andappreciate the horse as the secondbest friend ofhumans. Admittedly a quite unequal friendship. . .The Equus, as it is scientifically called, weighsusually about ten times more than its rider, which
excludes a role exchange from the beginning. Ofcourse horses are mammals and carry their babies, the fillies, about 12 months in the belly. Fromcurrent cause I may announce hereby officially thatI am also injoyous expectations. But not as youmay think I am going to be a horse-aunt! In June
the probably most beautiful filly of the world willsee the light of the day. As a scion of a black, french beauty and the famous Balou de Rouet itdeserves a very special name. Usually the name ofthe filly has the same initial letter, as the name ofthe father... Please write your suggestions to:[email protected] Yours, Princess
