JUDGE ROBERT W. BERTUCCI CIRCUIT COURT OF COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS Bar ratings: Found qualified by all Bar Associations. Legal Experience: Prior to becoming a Judge, Robert W. Bertucci worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney for nine years and in private practice for a year. Judicial Experience: Judge Bertucci was elected a full circuit judge in 1992. He was initially assigned to the First Municipal District handling traffic, civil and criminal cases. He later served as the Supervising Judge of the Evening Narcotics Division and then as a felony trial judge in the day division. Since 2000, he has served in the County Division where he is the Assignment Judge for tax deed cases and primarily handles election, mental health, and property tax cases. Education: Judge Bertucci graduated from Elmwood Park High School. Subsequently, he received an A.A. from Triton Community College and his B.A. from Lake Forest College. In 1983, Judge Bertucci received his Juris Doctor Degree with High Honors from Chicago Kent College of Law. Awards: Judge Bertucci received the Leonardo da Vinci Award For Outstanding Achievement in Law/Jurisprudence by the Order Sons of Italy in America on May 3, 2009. Membership: Judge Bertucci is a member of the Illinois Judges Association and has served for many years on its Board of Directors. He has also served on the election law committee of the Chicago Bar Association, and is a past president of the Justinian Society of Lawyers. Before joining the bench, he served as the president of a Chicago Park District Advisory Council. He is also a past president of the Elmwood Park Planning Commission. Birth Place: Chicago, Illinois Hobbies: Spending time with family, reading, travel and sports. Personal: Judge Bertucci is married to Terese, a nurse practitioner and diabetic educator. They have two adult sons. One is a Captain in the United States Marine Corps and the other is in his final year of law school.
