It was in 1395, three years after the Joseon Dynasty was founded by Yi Seong-gye when the

construction of the main royal palace was completed and the capital of the newly founded dynasty

moved from Gaeseong to Seoul (then known as Hanyang). The palace was named Gyeongbokgung,

the "Palace Greatly Blessed by Heaven." With Mount Bugaksan to its rear and Mount Namsan in the

foreground, the site of Gyeong-bokgung Palace was at the heart of Seoul and, indeed, deemed

auspicious according to the traditional practice of geomancy.

    12:00Lunch (Potato pork soup)

    13:00 Korean beauty shops

14:00 Namsangol Hanok VillageNamsangol Hanok Village is a collection of five hanoks (traditional Korean houses) from the Joseon

Dynasty (1392-1910). They were recovered from different parts of the city andrelocated to the northern

foot of Namsan mountain. The interior of each of these five houses reflect owners from different walks

of life from the middle class to the yangban (who were mainly high government officials, noblemen and

    aristocrats).

    15:00 Namsan Park

This past foreign residential complex was developed into an open botanical garden. And as the Namsan

Park was restored in the areas of Yejang-dong and Hwahyun-dong of Jung-gu and Hannam-dong o

Yongsan-gu, it truly changed into a peoples park.
