Knowing this can fill us with love and gratitude for His Atonement. “Listen to [Jesus Christ] who is the advocate with the Father, who is pleading your cause before him— “Saying: Father, behold the sufferings and death of him who did no sin, in whom thou wast well pleased; behold the blood of thy Son which was shed, the blood of him whom thou gavest that thyself might be glorified; “Wherefore, Father, spare these my brethren that believe on my name, that they may come unto me and have everlasting life” (D&C 45:3–5). Of Christ as our Advocate, Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles said: “It is of great significance to me, that I may at any moment and in any circumstance approach through prayer the throne of grace, that my Heavenly Father will hear my petition, that my Advocate, him who did no sin, whose blood was shed, will plead my cause.” Consider This How can the advocacy of Jesus Christ inspire us to extend mercy and forgiveness to others?

Presidency Message In the Annual Relief Society Training, the General Relief Society Presidency stated that, “they (sisters) can become instruments in the hands of the Lord by ministering to others in this great work.” The following questions and statements were given for us to ponder and act upon,

1. What does it mean to minister in the Savior’s way? “The privilege of ministering through visiting teaching is an opportunity to become like the Savior. As visiting teachers minister in the Savior’s way, they prepare themselves and others for the blessing of eternal life.

2. 3. When we minister with charity, the pure love of Jesus Christ, we recognize needs and respond in loving ways. “Lucy Mack Smith said, “We must cherish one another, watch over one another, comfort one another and gain instruction, that we may all sit down in heaven together”.

The 10th Ward Relief Society Theme for 2014 is: “Becoming a Zion People”.

“And the Lord called his people Zion, because they were of one heart and one mind, and dwelt in righteousness; and there was no poor among them.”

Moses 7:18.

“As important as it is to have this vision in mind, defining and describing Zion will not bring it about. That can only be done through consistent and concerned daily effort by every single member of the Church. No matter what the cost in toil or sacrifice, we must do it.” - President Spencer W. Kimball
