THIS EXAMINATION PAPER CONSISTS OF 3 SECTIONS:

SECTION A: CONSISTS OF POWERPOINT QUESTIONS ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS (80 MARKS)

SECTION B: CONSISTS OF EXCEL QUESTIONS ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS (70 MARKS)

SECTION C: CONSISTS OF THEORY QUESTIONS ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS (100 MARKS)

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Read the following instructions carefully before answering the paper, as failure to act upon them will result in a loss of marks.

2. Write your answers in your answer book, which is provided in the exam. 3. Ensure that your name and student number are clearly indicated on your answer book. 4. Write your answers in either blue or black ink in your answer book. 5. Read each question very carefully before you answer it and number your answers exactly as the

questions are numbered. 6. Begin with the question for which you think you will get the best marks. 7. Note the mark allocations for each question – give enough facts to earn the marks allocated.

Don't waste time by giving more information than required. 8. You are welcome to use diagrams to illustrate your answers. 9. Please write neatly – we cannot mark illegible handwriting. 10. Any student caught cheating will have his or her examination paper and notes confiscated.

The College will take disciplinary measures to protect the integrity of these examinations. 11. If there is something wrong with or missing from your exam paper or your answer book, please inform

your invigilator immediately. If you do not inform your invigilator about a problem, the College will not be able to rectify it afterwards, and your marks cannot be adjusted to allow for the problem.

12. This paper may be removed from the examination hall after the examination has taken place.

ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS Invigilator: 1. Software needed for this exam: Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 and Microsoft

Excel 2007.

2. Students do not require access to Microsoft Outlook.

3. Please hand students a labelled disk for sections A and B and an answer book for Section C. Also hand students a blank CD for them to submit their work on.

4. Students must save their work on the disk and hand in the disk as well as a printed-out copy of all their answers.

5. Supply students with a permanent marker in order for them to label their blank CDs.

6. Please ensure that each student hands in the disk on which they have saved their work, an answer book, a printed out copy of their work, the question paper and the instruction CD.

Students: 1. Insert the disk provided by the invigilator in the D:/ drive of your computer.

2. Save all your answers onto the blank disk which you will also receive from the invigilator using the file names given in the instructions for Sections A and B. Please note: No answers for Sections A and B will be retrieved after the examination if you forget to save work on the disk provided.

3. Please write the following on your blank disk:

Your name and student number.

Subject name

Exam code

Examiner’s details

4. Use the answer book provided to complete Section C of the examination.

5. In addition to the saved work, please print out a copy of all your answers for Sections A and B and hand it in with your exam disk and answer book.

6. Be sure to give the labelled disk, your printed hard copies and answer book to your invigilator for marking.

7. Instructions on how to save your work to disk:

Exit PowerPoint and Excel.

Go into My Documents and right click on the file that you want to write onto your disk.

Scroll down to the ‘Send To’ drop down box and select the CD drive (Usually drive D).
